Respectfully disagree.

What I got from what @Fleahive said is that other shows (VMAs, for example) can be bent to fit the demands of the artist in ways perhaps the Grammys don't. E.g. in Bey's case, "I'm only coming if I'm being honored". Which definitely is her flex these days and I'm 10000% here for it.

With the Grammys, it's still rigged af IMO, but moreso from a committee standpoint. Both the make up of its members, the voting pacts, etc. That said, because of its faux air of prestige, I don't believe even the top-tier acts can mandate that they must win to attend. The most I think they get in a pre-emptive capacity is a private handshake about how attending will be worth their while. Hence, why I think Bey has been playing ball post the Lemonade snub and the 444 fiasco. Each time she's gone in recent years, snubs aside, they've still managed to make her a key part of the broadcast (e.g. most awarded xyz).

Beyoncé kinda going ghost unless she’s on stage at her concerts stops people from calling her overrated all the time. If she does too much she easily becomes overexposed and people start calling her overrated and all this bullshit

The Grammys are not that legit and that’s why I don’t think bey really flexes them anymore. She used to really flex them but I think when she gave blue one as a sippy cup that was done :ahh: she has 500m-in-3-month tours to embark on now onto bigger and better things. Next album I kinda want her to skip going altogether. Imagine that be the time she actually wins AOTY

I’ve always thought the same, but now award shows are in the gutter. It’s crazy how much Beyoncé meant to me when it came to award shows, it’s part of the reason I stan. Like there’s something I like and respect about most MPGs and whatnot, but it’s rarely their live performances. Like I’m not sitting thru an award show for drama and gowns. I’m only sat when Beyoncé is listed a performer.

People’s opinion of her is not her concern, it’s theirs.

Someone who thinks she can’t sing or is overrated will not stop thinking or saying she’s overrated just because she’s not active.

How would you feel about her working with any of these producers again:

Rich Harrison

Boots

Timbaland

Swizz Beats

Ryan Tedder

Diplo

Cool and Dre

Scott Storch

Rodney Jerkins

Forgot to say: saw yesterday that the person that gave the info about Bey doing Vogue UK only had that post in the forum :rip: It was probably one of those Bey Twitter accounts trying to get some likes reposting things they made up.

Bolded the ones I'm interested in hearing/

I've always really adored her work with Swiss Beatz and wanted her to work together again, and am confident that with her input today they could make something great again...bc I don't remember the last thing he produced I that I liked (maybe it was 2010?)

Rich would be amazing too, to see what they come up with in 2024(?).

Same with Scott Storch, though his music is a bit cheesy so would need to be used in the context of giving that mid-2000s throwback, like a bonus song on a greatest hits or something.

I'm really interested to see how she navigates the Grammys moving forward.

I swore up and down the forum that Rennie would finally be "it" for AOTY. Not just because it's deserving but because of the optics. But alas, they did her dirty again.

She got her run with the whole "most awarded" stuff, which will take her peers a long time to match.

Because of that, she really ought to pay them dust. Like dust dust. I kinda get the sense that may be happening as her only submissions for the 2024 ceremony are for Echoes, which Travis submitted. She may simply want to put a hard stop on the Rennie era with the film, but Bey of yesteryear would have submitted the CI and AHAP remixes. Given the quality of both, she'd for sure have nabbed noms too.

Whatever the case, she needs to really cut that cord until they do right.

I don't really see Beyoncé giving up the Grammys. Like it or not, it's still THE prestige award of the industry, and the limiting of her exposure to only those such occurrences means that it's going to remain the most likely ceremony she'll attend (like the Oscars). Not only that, but her being the most awarded artist of all time there probably lends her some further reason to attend, if not to continue it, then to uphold her legendary status with the ceremony itself. She could either let that be trivia, or be how they always announce her every time she attends, etc.

Grammy awards are the highest honor of her field...she's not going to do any of these ungrateful, childish, entitled stunts yall want her to do

Is it a pro or a con if the only time the GP gets to see her on TV is when she loses AOTY :deadbanana4:

The Grammy voters are bitter, some of them straight up admitted they didn't vote for her because she wins too much. Harry's house winning over Renaissance is just... is there a diversity threshold

it's a pro, I think.

at the worst someone is going to think "she's so overrated anyway! she doesn't deserve it!" but her winning or not attending wasn't going to change that opinion.

or maybe someone will see her lose and then think "I guess her album wasn't good, I won't listen".

the positive about her losing and being there (if there is one) is that she is present and therefore on the mind of those watching (the reaction shots of the nominees are part of the shtick) and only furthers the "I can't believe she still hasn't won AOTY" or "She was snubbed!" rhetoric that probably has more lasting impact than someone simply winning and everyone being happy and moving on. I mean the most noteworthy thing about 25 winning was that it wasn't Lemonade, and that Adele devoted the majority of her speech to addressing this.

It's almost comparable to Susan Lucci losing Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the Daytime Emmy 21 times... it is more iconic and memorable to people than if she had won all 21 times, because it puts a sort of conflict into the equation that people then are waiting to resolve. There's an element of "loser" to it, but Susan was very much the soap opera queen, which is why her loses were all the more impactful/shocking to people.

She cant, you guys should know by now Bey thinks on behalf of herself and the women after her. She does not want to set a precedent like this that could ruin Grammy's for upcoming, young female R&B singers. She has to play the game in a more subtle way, which means getting MORE minorities and women on the GRAMMY voting committee so there is more balance (we know it is heavily white and male). She has also been on good terms with them for decades and is the most decorated artist ever, she wouldn't give sore loser.
