I feel similarly, tbh. Enjoyed Love Sux for what it was, but would prefer her to pursue something in the vein of soft-rock/alternative or singer-songwriter-y. I mean, I love everything she puts out regardless though

yeah, exactly! I really enjoy LS but honestly I'm very concerned about AL8, my expectations are low
