Also it's funny how this site is really biased against Adele. They said her album flopped but 30 is the best selling album of the eligibility period (only Bad Bunny will pass her in 4 weeks), they say her album is mediocre when it's her most acclaimed (88 metacritic score)    They also say she did the same album again (another 21-25) when most critics said she tried something different this time. It's like they live in a different reality

And how is 30 a flop when it’s the best selling album and vinyl of 2021, spent 6 weeks on top of the BB200, EOM broke the 24HR Spotify record, was #1 for 10 weeks on BB100 and has the largest streaming streaming week globally for a solo female song in history! 
Yes it’s lacking longevity but I put that solely down to the fact it a very long winded album that is a hard listen compared to 21/25. But that doesn’t equate flopping by any means!

Yeah, and people here and on twitter have always dragged her. Ten years ago it was the little monsters who were threatened by Adele bcuz Gaga was supposed to biggest star but Adele really killed that edm/pop music craze. And I think Swifties have been fuming since 2015 as they thought Taylor was the roof when it comes to first week sales in the US, but no she wasn't.

It amazes me how people say that 30 is the same thing as her previous records  like they hear a piano and they just start crying or something  30 is by far her most complex production to date. The complexity of tracks like LIAG with all the vocal layering with the strings, super Marvin Gaye Whats Going On moment. The dreamy Frank Sinatra/Lana Del Rey opening track, the intense slow burning TBL, the pop bangers OMG, CIG and WWW, the pitched up vocals on CYHO with the Motown background, the soulful and progressive structure of Hold On, the lofi jazz instrumentation on ANP, etc... I can see EOM, WLM, IDW CBT being reminiscent of her past sound but cmon... this is her most distinct body of work yet. For some reason some fanbases are even scared of listening to the record, mental illness if you ask me.

Yeah and promotion matters! Like remember how Love in the dark was always a great song but not popular in streaming until it blew up on tiktok. It could be that in 5 years some song from 30 blows up similarly. And I know Adele doesn't want 14-year-olds listening to her album but maybe she should bcuz they are so powerful now, lol. There's a deffo a link between what's hot on tiktok and on spotify.

Exactly this era just didn’t connect with the tiktok generation (which she didn’t want) but that doesn’t mean it won’t. I mean a lot of her songs have gone viral on that app and will continue too! I would rather have an organic viral hit then a forced one.

 

Overall I really feel like 30 will be one of those albums that will be more appreciated once A releases more albums and people go back and re listen to it (just like 19).

Also remember how there have been rumors about her turning the Vegas thing into a tv special or netflix show. Adele Live From Las Vegas! I'd love to see that. And it's the least she could do for only performing to such a limited audience.

I feel like this would be an extremely good idea for holiday season and put it on Netflix/Disney+ And have her cover some Christmas songs.

I honestly wouldn’t mind if she released a Christmas song either this year considering everyone always talks about her doing one…

I feel like holiday season is going to be good to her 

I still think they need to take full advantage of those holiday buyers and release a deluxe edition with some new songs and a blue vinyl. 

It's crazy that her TV program sweeps Emmy during her 'flop' era

I expect 30 will have a resurgence during Fall/Winter season and when she starts her Vegas shows. The mood of that album is designed for Fall/Winter season

 

To think we used to complain about Adele's Special killing all the future promo for the 30 era because of the CBS deal but now she's an Emmy winner thanks to the Special  

Just popping back to say we absolutely love and stan Emmy winner Queen A on this day and every day.  

It’s the way A comes back every half a decade and leaves her house twice a year and she has everyone so pressed!

Those claims mostly come from two bases, which is sad considering people used to say the same thing about one of them in the past. 21 is different from 19, same as 25 from 21 and now 30 is different from 25. As you say, they hear a piano and run immediately to claim the albums all sound the same.

30 is, to me, a league above anything else she’s done. Love is a Game, To Be Loved, and I Drink Wine… you’re lucky to write 3 songs like those in your entire career. To do it in one album is an absolute triumph. I was always a casual fan but 30 is truly unmatched, and even for the success it’s had I still feel it’s underrated especially on here.

Most haters were waiting for her not to pull numbers like she did during 25 to start spreading the narrative she's flopping, when in fact she's still fine.
