If she drops another album soon, the streaming of her older songs will likely see a massive sustained increase. The fact she hasn't released anything in two years makes her streaming numbers over the past year kinda impressive because there hasn't been anything to push them aside from a few Tik Tok videos going viral. It's a testament to the strength of her back catalogue.

 

I'd argue that 30 didn't do much for her streaming because it came out at a bad time. The industry was still recovering from COVID and the album was clearly crafted for one last physical sales push prior to COVID killing off physical albums for good. It was still one of the top selling albums despite that, so I'll never understand people who call it a flop. I actually think it did extremely well under the circumstances. It was just bad timing. It should have come out in Q4 of 2019 but no one could have predicted COVID.

In the end it’s gonna end up with 3 billion streams (Spotify only) and I think for an album with limited promo/singles outside of its debut is good. 
But yeah A5 needs to come sooner rather than later. Her career won’t survive another 5+ year gap in between 30 and A5.

I think the daily Covid cases peaked right around the release of 30, and then the war in Ukraine started few months after. The last 3 years have sucked in many ways. I don't think people wanted to hear that many ballads then. Although I find 30 to be very therapeutic.

@Aslan I've been hearing Adele on the public radio in Finland a lot more lately. I've heard EOM, OMG and even WUTB few days ago in a grocery store. Maybe it's a good omen.

I was listening to vampire (by Olivia) the other day and noticed they edited out "god damn" part and it hit that blasphemy is still a massive thing and some radio stations/dj don't play songs with it.

so it was always doomed on radio from jump

i did! then a few days ago i was on a hunt for A songs for a potential megarate and i gave it another chance and whew ive been corrected

I’m excited for her comeback this weekend (vegas comeback that is)

I swear it gets better with time. Adele loves a good bossa nova vibe. Even on the Lovesong cover and more recently on Woman Like Me.
