Surprised that Drake is #1 over Adele, and also to see Katy barely in the top 5 considering she had 8 #1 hits

I thought it'd be weighed a bit heavier but I can't say I'm surprised. The Hot 100/Billboard 200 will always be weighed the heaviest in every decade-end chart as they're Billboard's two main charts. Everything else will be secondary. 

 

I wonder if Billboard will stick to touring accounting for 5% this decade or if it'll weigh even less considering the pandemic and the fact that major acts may not be able to tour till the middle of the decade.

Why is it that interesting? Their numbers are pretty equal (0,5M difference), especially considering Gaga released one more album than Rihanna in the 2010s:

 

Rihanna - RR (released at the end of 2009 but most of its chart run occurred in 2010), LOUD, TTT, Unapologetic, ANTI (5)

Lady Gaga - TFM (same as RR), BTW, Artpop, C2C, Joanne, ASIB (6)

 

 

 

Rihanna's Hot100 points are quite insane tbh. For comparison it's more than twice Gaga's points (7,6M vs 3,6M) 

 

Taylor being #4 (Hot 100), #2 (BB200), #2 (Touring) and #5 (Social 50)... An all around force. She's the only artist that is top 5 (or top 10 for that matter) in all categories.

My guess would be the worth of 1 million in touring gross will stay the same in the formula, which will make it even less than 5% overall with touring most likely being down

If you wanna focus on the BB200 charts, ask yourself why the so-called albums artist is barely outdoing (0,5m points) the so called quick little singles artist despite releasing more albums. 

 

At least the so called single artist is majorly outdoing the so called album artist on the Hot 100 chart (by 4m points).

If you are counting Gaga's side project of jazz covers, you should count her remix albums aswell

 

Rihanna had far more singles that promoted those albums, Gaga only had 2 with Joanne and 1 with ASIB

Interesting that somehow ASIB counts as a Lady Gaga album but not C2C. Why is that? In both cases it's just a joint album. Is it just because ASIB was successful and not C2C? Or does that mean that Love For Sale does not count as a Grammy nomination for Lady Gaga since it's a jazz cover project?

Anyway, even if you consider they released same amount of albums, the mere fact that they are so close to each other is definitely not the drag you think it is since one of those is the so called album artist and the other the so called quick little single artist.

Also that tends to happen when there is no demand for the singles. Million reasons was promoted anywhere and everywhere for months, being discounted, and yet it could only snatch ONE week in the top 10 thanks to the Superbowl. Releasing other singles for Joanne would have been completely pointless since nothing was going to have success.

That's a self-drag lmao labels release many singles from an album when an album is successful/producing hits after hits (aka every Rihanna album since A Girl Like Me). They stop at 2/3 singles and cut the era short when an album is struggling - before they start losing money off of the project (aka every Gaga album since ARTPOP). 

 

Soundtracks being an exception since they're tied to a movie/film studio.

C2C and L4S are side projects, literally covers of jazz classics while ASIB was an original soundtrack with a single promoted on radio and streaming
