Imma surprise you. Her plaques aren't that far from being properly certified. You hear a lot of these undercertified narratives but when u check the numbers, they oftenly match or are not far from that. Anaconda is a perfect example. 

 

Anyways, Cardi is in her own league. Over 70M RIAA units with one album out, additional millions just added from WAP, and other singles are undercertfied - e.g. 3 Diamond plaques are waiting... Legendary. Nobody comes close.

and for the record most non cardi fans have brought up other girls.

 

But yes it's going to be tough. if Doja ends up having a great year next year she might do well but I think Cardi came in at a unique time so it might not be as easy for a newcomer but I think it's not about trying to be #1 as it's about being successful.

She's actually eligible to go up to 57-9.5M- as a lead. 

I just hope in CB2 era they don't take forever to update her certs.

In 2018 and 2019 they were updating monthly to quarterly. At least update every quarter in 2021/2022.
