Before WAP was released Cardi had 26 Million monthly listeners. She gained over 5 million this past week after the release of WAP surpassing Doja

That’s not surprising at all. Hit = increase in listeners.

Same happened with Megan only for Cardi to surpass her a while later despite not releasing music in 9 months.  Those monthly listeners don't really mean that much. What matters are actual stream numbers and Cardi's catalogue if well received and constantly streamed across the platform. Newest single breaking records indicates that too.
