A song being #1 on iTunes for a week and debuting 22 while 5 yrs ago it would have secured a Top10/5 debut. A song #1 on Spotify/AM for a week would be enough for it to be Top10 debut week so yeah, sales are kinda dead

It's just funny that both are lead singles to side projects but one went top 15 and the other... didn't.

Shallow in its debut week didn't have this advantage either. You can come back next week if it ends up being the only #1 digital song peaking outside Top 15, like the user you replied to said, even with what you claim as an advantage. Until then, it's not a fair point. 

 

Not that it means anything since it's not even an official single.
