Shallow didn’t exactly sound like a radio single either. I remember people complaining about the weird verse-verse-chorus structure and the crowd noises when it first came out. If the song makes sense in the context of the movie and its respective scene is great, it could blow up (if not on radio, at least online). But regardless of radio, they for sure will request an original song for the sole purpose of being an awards contender.

There’s no way they won’t include at least one original song to push during awards season. It might not be the accessible/commercial type, but no studio would willingly have Gaga on their movie and not want an original song to push. At the end of the day an Oscar is an Oscar to those studios, they sadly won’t think “ooh, Gaga has had a BOS win before, let’s aim for the BA this time”. Including an original song is a guaranteed nom and very possible win, so they will definitely aim for that.

I’m just gonna flat out say that anyone believing in those conspiracy theories is a dumbass. Yes, Britney’s posts have been odd, but you have to realize this woman had been imprisoned by her own family for over a decade; forced to do nothing but work and drugged to an insane amount. I’m not surprised that she’s acting out now that she’s free, and I’m also not surprised that she has developed trauma over the situation. This is not something that you can let go of easily and she has lots of healing to do. Let her be.

Taylor might not be the best performer but her show would be great, and she has the hits to back it up. I can see why see would decline though, considering her re-recordings aren’t all out yet. She’s def doing it in the next few years. I’d personally love Miley, she doesn’t have that many smashes but she could add some of her popular covers and even sprinkle a couple Hannah Montana songs in a rockier setting. Everyone would eat it the **** up. I’d also like Rihanna but let’s be honest, she’s completely unbothered. Britney, too, but I don’t think she’s ready or willing to do so at this point in time. Pink would be a cute choice, but mehhh… she bores me personally. She’s a beloved performer though so they might go with her.

Believe what you want, I’m Greek and I do know how the market works here. Physical sales have been long dead since the mid/late 00’s and IFPI has failed to adjust the charts accordingly. The most believable scenario is that they count shipments instead of the near non-existent sales, so it’s very likely that they simply just restocked plenty of Taylor albums which is why there’s a sudden jump on the chart.
