lol. Hopefully this will put him in his place

Yeah, sold less than 1/10 (9.5%) of 25's first week, and only slightly closer on SPS (12.8% using 445k vs 3.48 M).

Actually, after doing the math, he only sold 9.5% of 25 lol. That 10% estimation was too generous lol. I won't say anything more though, as I don't want to get reported. However, honestly, Ed did A LOT less than I had thought too (500k/650k SPS). So I'm more than surprised about his poor performance than anything else. And no, the Album market hasn't shrunk anywhere close to 90% since November 2015. Yes, the album market continues to lose consumers, but not at that rate.

He should put his face on an album cover, it would sell more

I mean they're still impressive numbers but I guess he should've aimed for Bieber instead of Adele :cm:

I'm sorry but these numbers are rather underwhelming considering how much he was overhyping himself.

Taylor Swift is still the biggest star in the World

Great numbers for 2017 but it's really funny how much he overestimated himself.

I don't think he did. Did he specify he was going to come close to Adele in USA?

He came much closer in UK where's he much bigger

His first era wasn't even that big in USA.

He still sold much more than his last albums first week in USA

That's a huge improvement given how much the sale environment has changed

You should count 445k for US since the UK figure is SPS aswell and mediatraffic (if we use it) count SPS.

Taylor Swift is still the biggest star in the World

Multiply sold 200k in its first week in the US but the album is at 8.6m WW. Ed could actually still top 1989 but seeing as Taylor is releasing this year we will likely get a fairer comparison.
