I officially don't understand how album certifications work anymore.

But I heard it was less than 100 minutes

I think Scorpion is 89 minutes? knowing the rules, why didn't he just make it more than 100 minutes to benefit from this rule..its just two additional songs.

It doesn’t meet the requirements that post is false...it needs  be 100M and Drake’s album is 90M

its a 90 minute album. 

The double album certification rule is stupid tbh. It at least made a little sense with pure sales, but it makes no sense with streaming equivalents.

Not really, just old fashioned. Double albums used to cost as much as two albums since it IS two albums, so 1 certification = 2.

 

Whats dumb is Christina’s back to basics album was like 4 minutes short and was still just as expensive as two albums but it didn’t qualify... even tho it was a double album in all other contexts.

He probably didn't know. He could just make some songs longer if he knew.

Wait, so the album has to be at least 100 minutes for a double disc to be eligable platinum?  

 

He could have added DI and some other singles, even Summer Sixteen

this. at least with pure sales it's like buying two albums at once. doing that with streaming means counting it as four albums

 

He should've really included Signs (feat. Young Thug), No Frauds (with Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne), Diplomatic Immunity and Duppy Freestyle then... 

The album is 89:44 minutes long so it won't be certified as a double album.

An album shouldn't even be platinum eligible just like that, it goes to show that streaming is definitely and will never be counted properly

Hit singles have always sold off albums even decades ago. It probably the  most obvious  at the point when Physical SIngles died and Itunes was still baby steps
