I think part of it is the song just isn't as instantly catchy as her other lead singles, and also she didn't really do all out as far as promo goes. If I remember correctly her promo for Roar was NUTS (and this isn't shade, I like when artists promo their stuff). Plus when promoting Roar she went the more traditional route of TV and radio performances/interviews whereas for CTTR she went for a more viral marketing approach that doesn't seem to have stuck that well.

The song is definitely a grower though, I'm liking it a little more now that I've heard it for a while. And at the end of the day it's already a certified cute top 5 hit so
