Her streams on YT aren't encouraging, tho.

To be fair the video kind of sucks :priceless:

But yeah her streaming could definitely be better. I do think getting into TTH and a few other major playlists could give it a jump start though.

It isn't even about the video. I mean, even Disturbed's "The Sound Of Silence" has more views than MR :rip: Selena's "Kill 'Em With Kindness" has more views and is a boring video. Hell, even Rihanna's flop single "Kiss It Better" has more views. Adele's live video of "When We Were Young" has more views. :dies:

There is just not demand for her in the streaming platforms.

Hopefully Lana snatches #4 in the next update :duca:

That's the idea and I guess we won't know but there's plenty of songs on TTH that aren't streaming hits. MR has had plenty of enough promotion to get interested listeners if it was going to. Luckily it's connected with buyers but that's not the most beneficial metric anymore.

Gaga :jonny:

The biggest injustice is that its performing so well on probably the least important measure in this day and age. If only Spotify would put it on popular plays lists and the radio would start playing it

If only people would stream it.

How much more can Gaga promote this song she deserves an award for that.

Tbh I can't help but cackle when some members ask Gaga to put this into TTH. I don't think there is a single soul in America that hasn't heard the song. :toofunny2:

What? Of course there are

It's still not even at 60% familiarity to appear on airplay callouts

Lana green at #4, what is happening :weeps:

I was referring to what I thought this member was saying about Closers 24k a week in sales, but the quote didn't come out that way.

I wouldn't say so, since Closer and the Chainsmokers will get another boost after getting nominated for 11 I Heart Radio awards. Closer picked back up to around 30k this week. I really thought CSTF would've had a significant Oscar boost, but that hasn't happened.

And while I still think Closer will eventually overtake Feeling in sales (Closer is still streaming well and ranks higher than Feeling on AI/HRS, Feeling has fallen back a bit on both), the fact they are this close together right now means the catching up process will take a little longer.

I was referring to a song that was close to overcome Mariah's legendary record ain't even triple platinum being tragic, which it is regardless the ****ty state of digital sales.

@Duca Work isn't even double platinum? :deadbanana3:

Closer will get to 5-6x platinum...

And One Sweet Day is 2x platinum so what are you even talking about. Times change.

Bold prediction :rip:

Times were different back then so what are you talking about?

I'm aware of the current sales climate but it wasn't long time ago SYA sold over 4 million, that's why I find Closer's #s horrible.

Sis no one use pure sales, in 2 years the number 1 song will strugle to move 500k

Back then single sales weren't big either.

2M back in 90s is equivalent to 5XPlat now, not to mention it came off a Diamond album.

Yeah sorry it's at 7x platinum already and should get to 8x at least. Forgot Youtube for a second.

Times are different now too and yes they changed very quickly.

Being 2x platinum in the physical era is great and selling 3 million and being 8x platinum at the tale end of the digital era is great.

I know. RIAA did a horrible job in certifying singles over time imo.

True but I was still surprised it sold that little.

We were talking about pure sales, why were you mentioning YT?

Other songs that weren't #1 for so long sold more than it, either way it should've sold more.

You were talking about certifications. Certifications are not about pure sales

Other songs that were released after it? My House and CSTF were released before

Certifications from RIAA are based on consumption units ie sales + streams

Well I meant selling 3M in pure sales, sorry.

That's cute, my point was, a song that spent over 10 weeks at #1 should've sold more.

I don't really see how you can argue the sales of a song that spent a record tying 13 weeks at #1 on digital songs.

You could argue that it was a bit unfortunate to only get 12 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 though. With 11 weeks atop radio, 12 weeks atop streaming and 13 weeks atop digital songs.

Shape Of You is likely that next 10 weeks #1 and it will certainly not pass Closer's sales.

What are the possibilities that these videos have been out for 1-2 years as opposed to 2 months?

For real :toofunny2:

Even Perfect Illusion has 82m views and will hit 100m next month.

Gaga needs a big hit with a great video. Only that way people will stream her vids on Youtube

Its funny how that song nobody Remebers in America holds a record and it actually has more men on it the Mariah.  I have no clue what that song even sounds like.  We Belong Together would have been a better airplay driven record holder.
