Final predictions (4/27): Hozier #1, Sabrina #7
Haven't listened to the Sabrina Carpenter song yet but she has some bops. Happy to see her get a top 10 finally.

HDD: Taylor Swift is the most dominating artist "since the heyday of The Beatles"
Yeah, god forbid we don't give a few white men with hideous bowl cuts credit for something they didn't invent.

Them white people didn't invent sh*t.

The Beatles make generic pop music. Get over yourself.

Do you still use Mr. Saxobeat?
This song sucks.

HDD: Beyoncé on track for second week at #1
Beyoncé snagging a 2nd week at #1. Wow J Cole's numbers are……mediocre to say the least. Also Ariana's album and single really haven't found their footing yet. It's true that there is a lot of competition, but I fear that by the time the new releases stop, her chartruns are gonna be looking extremely subpar.

Taylor turned the UAE offer down, Beyoncé didn't. Why?
Yeah. I mean, anybody accepting money to do that type of performance is kind of being selfish and a garbage person anyway. But, I feel like a lot of people would do it and I can't say myself (or Taylor Swift, or any other celeb) that if I was giving a significant amount of money to do it as well, I wouldn't. So I'm nobody to pass judgment on any celebrity for it.

Taylor turned the UAE offer down, Beyoncé didn't. Why?
Taylor was paid significantly less, so it's obvious why she wouldn't do it. But Beyoncé (and rich people in general) has a very questionable moral compass from what I've seen/heard so I'm not surprised in the slightest she accepted. Not holding it against her though, 30+ million dollars is a good amount of money.

Lovin On Me and Hiss for me.

Houdini outlasting Lovin On Me on Spotify, why?
Lovin On Me is still a bigger hit in the UK and globally. So idk what exactly the point of this thread is.

Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT'
Unrelated to anything, but "karma is a cat purring in my lap cause it loves me" is actually a good lyric. The reason why the songwriters people like to fawn over like Lana and Fiona Apple don't write "clunky" lyrics like that is not because they're the best songwriters of all time and can't write a "bad" lyric, it's because they don't have the range to take themselves less seriously. And that's the charm with Taylor Swift.

Billie releasing 9 vinyl variants after environmental claim
On one note, the materials are recyclable so technically she still has a point. On another note, the real eco-friendly way to do this would really be just not having any variants at all if she really cared about the environment.

Billboard Charts (Week of April 13, 2024)
Glad to see someone other than Taylor Swift and Drake debuting with over 400k these days.

Alter egos in pop music, yay or nay ?
I don't love it.

Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT'
People really like to dunk on Midnights, but it truly is a fine pop album. Not everything needs all the bells and whistles and you can tell she was going for a more subdued sound. It's not going to be for everybody, but going as far as saying it's bad is crazy.

Dua Lipa's Houdini has 370M streams in 5 months. Impressive?
They're pretty middle of the road numbers.

Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT'
Your username is a song from Midnights. It's okay, you don't have to be undercover about your love for the pop bible

Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT'
April Fools is every day for Taylor Swift fans, I fear "folklore" will never have a song as good as Karma.

Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT'
Midnights is her best album

Which era is bigger: 1989 or Teenage dream ?
1989. I think the re-recording cemented how beloved and huge it is.

Who is the most inescapable or ubiquitous singer in your country?
I'm from the US, so Taylor Swift.
