Her original point also includes big artists doing this for money and chart, and calling that wasteful, yet she is doing the EXACT same thing but even worst with 9 variants.

"This Eco-Mix vinyl is 100% recycled compound made of trimmed flash and leftovers from any color which cannot otherwise be reused. These pieces are then recycled and re-used for production of future discs. With Eco-Mix, every disc looks different from the last. All vinyl packaging is made from FSC® certified recycled paper/boards made 100% from post-consumer waste and recycled pre-consumer fibers. The ink used is raw plant-based and water-based dispersion varnish. In place of shrink-wrap, the sleeves are 100% recycled and re-usable. For shipping, all finished goods are packaged and shipped to depots in up to 93% recycled and 100% recyclable shipping boxes."

Sticking to her original point!

even worse... a gimmick requiring bulk purchases for a signature

How is the quality of the Eco-Mix vinyl?

But also, yes, she's a hypocrite. And she's clogging up the pipes for other artists. Nobody needs nine variants.

The way she really thought

Wasn't the whole point that she used recycled materials to make the vinyls? How is this hypocrisy?

They are all made from recycled materials so…how does that go against her original point?

Are people still missing her point on purpose?

Unless every version has different / exclusive songs, she's not playing the same game certain other artists play, where you have to collect all variants like effing Pokemon to get the full album.

"...each on the same day, containing the same track-listing across the board and all produced with the most sustainable practices available..."

And that's the difference - for the slow folks in the back.

Y'all serving I don't contribute to global warming because I use reusable straws and shopping totebags.

I mean part of her rant was that artists are making you get multiple copies for no other reason than to boost sales... which is what she is doing too :noparty:

I think it would have been better if she spoke about it after announcing the album, rather than set herself up like this. It's still cool that she's using recycled materials.

I wonder what stops her from releasing just one edition. That would be the best way to save ~our~ earth.

No, virtue signaling is having people sign useless petitions that don't go anywhere or wearing a shirt that says "pollution kills.” Taking measures in your own career to stand by what you preach is the opposite of virtue signaling. At least she recycles the material at all. Some just recycle the music.
