Some of those posts in the chart thread are really making me consider deleting my account here. Sometimes I think it's just cute little drags, but sometimes it seems like serious mental illness

I'm not going to call it fraudulent because it's not, A Bar Song is huge. But there's a reason less and less people care about Billboard as a metric these days. You can only massage the numbers so many times before people stop caring.

8 years is a long time. 2008 had Obama flipping Indiana and almost flipping Montana and Missouri. 2016 had Hillary losing all three states by like 20 points. Who knows what 2028 and 2032 will bring.

Twitter used to be great because there were so many communities you could interact with and share information with. Part of the fun was seeing posts from people you've never heard of talking about shows/music/movies you've never seen. None of it had to be political. Now Twitter rebranded X feels like an arm of the Republican party. You can't even block political content anymore, somehow it always ends up in your feed. I just joined Bluesky because I miss old Twitter and the world desperately needs an alternative.

The 270 EV Blue States + PA, WI, MI, NE2 would go down to 256 EV. It would mean democrats would need to also win GA, NC or AZ + NV. It makes a win harder but nowhere near impossible. I get being negative after November but to say democrats have no path in 2032 is absurd.

Just my opinion about what her place in history should be. But to address your other points, I really don't think Walz ever had national aspirations. Neither do I think democrats are in a place where they can't recover. Which brings me back to my point, a 47/53 senate and a 213-215/220-222 house is infinitely more recoverable than the electoral massacre Biden staying as the nominee would have resulted in. It could have been better but it also could have been alot worse, hence why I'm thankful she stepped in. You're welcome to disagree though.

Not thrilled about the Kamala bashing either. She was running to succeed an administration with a 41% approval rating that she was key member of. In a perfect world, Biden would have announced he wasn't running earlier and we'd get a primary. But of course, that didn't happen and the only conceivable replacement was Kamala. So, was Kamala's strategy of embracing Republicans and not distancing herself from Biden flawed? A resounding yes. But she excited enough democrats to keep the swing states close and saved enough democrats down ballot in the process. I reiterate that I hope history is kind to her because of that. She turned a historic landslide defeat into a close but lopsided EC loss. Honestly not all that different than Hubert Humphrey in 1968 if you think about it.

Yep, he's certainly not the most attractive man. But he's a half decent public speaker. At best though, maybe a VP. And only if you're looking for executive experience and don't care about his wall street past...
