  1. This heaux cannot help but slayyy me! (I do wish the outro was longer but this is a smasha)
  2. recognizing that this is her troll era has made this far more exciting and hilarious to me. she knows what she's doing
  3. BEAT UP CHANEL$ is her best song, but BRITTANY MURPHY. is her best-WRITTEN song PERIOD.
  4. I think I prefer Deeper Well sonically, but Middle of Nowhere is better lyrically. Both are probably 8/10 imo. Coyote is beautiful and haunting, I Believe in Ghosts is straight from her debut album, and Mexico Honey is a bop.
  5. So is a deluxe coming - or is BROKE ***** FREE$TYLE a one off?
  6. The pain I felt logging into Patreon to see if Mother AJay would have her reaction up... only to find a Hades first listen
  7. Enjoyable album, but listening hot off of Slayyyter's AOTY was tough. I loved Really Real, Sucker for Love, and Into the Sun. The rest range from meh to good. Honey >>
  8. This might actually be AOTY. All rippers - no skippers.
  9. great album! i'm so glad i listened on a whim. reminds me of 100 gecs meets ninajirachi meets imogen heap? music and the peace are 100/10
  10. snippets highkey killing any hype i had for this; everytime i catch a vibe she follows up with some whack lyrics... which usually i can overlook, but this is album 4 and it feels like she's regressing as a song writer. anyways, i DID like garbage, monolith, the plague, and the last two people on earth! still a very interesting artist sonically.
  11. Mitski could put out 20 minutes of farting into a microphone and it would be higher quality than Taylor's recent output. ... but I lowkey agree that her albums are becoming a tad predictable, and it would be nice for her to take a break and return with a more updated, unique sound.
  12. I do, but I see why people don't. Also, technically it's not Lana Del Rey - it's Lana Del Ray. So yeah
  13. me asf chiseling the blue banisters off of the legendary discography sculpture
  14. Let's not pit two queens against each other - honeymoon is gorgeous and very well may be a better album, but this is like 5 albums later… her life has changed, her sound has changed, her style of songwriting has changed. not everyone is going to be a fan of where she is now, but I love all the different facets of her artistry!
  15. Lana is never going to give you what you want, but she ALWAYS gives you what you need. Until I heard that first snippet 2 days ago, I had no idea this sound was missing from my life. Now I'm obsessed. One of few artists today that truly do not give a ****. Riding her own wavelength and forging her own path like only Queen Mothers can do
  16. how can there be an A&W formula when there have been like 2 songs since that alboom and none of them sound anything like it
  17. The Right Person Will Stay > Stove > Lasso > Classic > Nothing Kills Your Name
  18. and if it the holy trinity needed to become a holy duology; Ocean Blvd would still be there!
  19. Man, Chemtrails/BB really did a number on this fandom... let's not forget that Ocean Blvd is an acclaimed smasher of an album with multiple discography highlights, some of her best writing, and experimental production! it's not like she's released flop album after flop album...
  20. I think Lana writes music at such a fast rate that she can't help but to add new songs and edit her tracklists up until the last possible moment. Even when she's in an album release cycle, she's already thinking about and working on her next album.
  21. One thing about Lana is that every album has AT LEAST one song title that is a phrase never before uttered in human history until that moment.
  22. Eusexua vs. Love Crimes Girl Feels Good vs. Slushy Perfect Stranger vs. Wild and Alone Drums of Death vs. HARD Room of Fools vs. Cheap Hotel Sticky vs. Touch A Girl Keep It, Hold It vs. Predictable Girl Childlike Things vs. Sushi Striptease vs. Piece of Mine 24hr Dog vs. Lost All My Friends Wanderlust vs. Stereo Boy EUSEXUA: 5/11 AFTERGLOW: 6/11
  23. seems unfair ranking these when #1-6 are all 10/10s and the rest are still at least 9s-9.5s/10. 1. Reliquia 2. Mio Cristo Piange Diamanti 3. Divinize 4. Magnolias 5. La Yugular 6. La Rumba del Perdón 7. Berghain 8. La Perla 9. Dios Es un Stalker 10. Porcelana 11. De Madrugá 12. Sauvignon Blanc 13. Memória 14. Sexo, Violencia, y Llantas 15. Mundo Nuevo she really came through and delivered a modern masterpiece, i haven't felt this way listening to an album since Frank Ocean's Blonde.
  24. Both this song and Nettles feel so much shorter than they are because you're just hooked into the storytelling and the dynamic, escalating production. I never thought Ethel would be making another American Teenager-esque, stadium pop/rock song, but she ate. The bridge is transcendent. She knows how to pace her songs, which is the most glaring issue I had with Lorde's album (which I still loved). Some of Ethel's best moments in her discography come from letting the production breath (ex., Thoroughfare outro). A few tracks from Virgin end so abruptly, just when they're about to peak, but Ethel always gives us that cathartic build and release.
  25. Whew, this was a transcendent listen with headphones. Definitely need more time to let it fully sink in. It's greatest strength is not it's production or melodies or hooks, but the incredible songwriting. Initial ranking is 100% going to change, but this is how I'm feeling right after finishing my first : 1. BROKEN GLASS 2. SHAPESHIFTER 3. DAVID 4. CURRENT AFFAIRS 5. HAMMER 6. IF SHE COULD SEE ME NOW 7. FAVOURITE DAUGHTER 8. WHAT WAS THAT 9. GRWM 10. MAN OF THE YEAR 11. CLEARBLUE Also note that I did not dislike a single song. Clearblue is super engaging for an interlude-type song, and I enjoy a lot of aspects of Man of the Year despite it being too short and a tad underdeveloped.
