  1. The story sounded suspicious to me from the very beginning. She lived in Rochester, 5 hours away from NYC, which meant she would've had to leave at 2 p.m. at the latest to make it to the 7 p.m. red carpet (and that's without traffic and rush-hour). The VMAs were on a Thursday in 2000, so does that mean she snuck out at 2 p.m. on a school day to go to an event where she didn't even have a ticket? And what kind of 20-year-old would drive a 13-year-old 5 hours to an event where they didn't even have a ticket and just leave them there? It's so convenient that this "friend" of hers has passed away and is unable to corroborate the story. And that her father who drove 5 hours to and from also can't remember it happening.
  2. I had to quit a book by these authors after the first chapter because it was so bad…
