  1. Who said we are ignoring that? Both are chart manipulation that should not be allowed. I’ve dragged Dynamite on here, and also had issues with SWU, TROLLZ, Franchise, etc. Those other #1 debuts don’t excuse Ariana’s underdeserved one
  2. It’s kinda disgusting how Ariana will be #1 because of radio (which has recently proved to be fraudulent), while Luke is #1 on all but one platform. Not a dig at Ariana, but Billboard’s tragic formula.
  3. Bodak Yellow is either 7, 11, or 15. It doesn't have a video on AM so they couldn't play it. ILI
  4. Yes. BuzzAngle had it at 1.6B On-Demand Streams in the 10s, and only like 250M of them come from Spotify. The stream only played videos on Apple Music's platform, and the BY video isn't there.
  5. No one is pretending those years don’t exist. The daily chart simply didn’t exist during those years. It’s not that hard to understand. Record keeping starts at the foundation of a chart...
  6. Weeks /=/ days. The achievement is about most days at #1, we don’t know how many days DH spent #1.
  7. The official chart is what matters. If you’re combining versions of songs then Post Malone’s record for rockstar with 124 days at #1 is lowered due to Perfect having 3 versions at once outstreaming it. Or bad guy’s 30 days at #1 is severely reduced, and maybe never even reached, due to Old Town Road having 2 main versions, in addition to the 474748 remixes he added later. So... yes! OT: Congrats to the Queen of Rap!
  8. Radio exists... And yes, the Hot 100 should be basically a replica of the Streaming Songs chart + influence of other components. It's 2020. Streaming is 85% of music revenue.
  9. credit to fhas on Pulse. The amazing set of genuine smash #1s this would’ve been
  10. No. Both The Scotts & Highest In the Room were genuine hits on their debut week. They smashed in streams and would’ve been top 2 from them alone.
  11. Dynamite getting a taste of its own medicine
  12. The way he didn’t even mention the word white supremacist
  13. Biden really ate with that COVID-19 speech
  14. 2020, the year where Billboard decides to cut the amount of genuine streams they count (completely removing UGC) but happily includes stans mass-buying a song’s +10 versions
  15. Not really. Look at this example from this year: There is not one, but TWO lyric videos with more views than her official upload. These lyric video channels have massive followings who only watch/listen to the songs there. Removing these type of streams from the charts will be hurting artists like this one.
  16. Terrible decision. This hurts indie/newcoming artists. An artist with 50K subscribers would benefit if a lyric video account with 2M subscribers posted their songs.
  17. Excluding local platforms makes sense for now. They need to figure out a way to weight things like QQ, where songs "sell" like 1M in 2 days It's still the early stages of the chart, there are sure to be changes and updates. Also, a lot of Asian countries still use Spotify and YouTube heavily. Philippines being one.
