More than a decade overdue but better late than never Studio Albums Mixtapes Compilation Album
  2. Not the Swifties fuming that Taylor's lack of successful features has obliterated any demand from other artists to want her on their song OT: Rihanna leading the list despite a half decade long hiatus. Truly the hitmaker of our generation
  3. So I just checked and pov's call out data is the exact same as last week's figures. I'm guessing that it shouldn't have actually debuted that soon and that's just old incomplete data or something?
  4. If you're creating something just to get a reaction for some extra streams it's not art it's a product. This is true for any "artist", art is about self expression, if you're only making a product to generate cash flow for your label, you're an industrialist tool at best.
  5. lmfao at Taylor Swift occupying 40% of this all time list
  6. I mean there's no official source that reliably documents worldwide sales. Chartmasters' latest updates for these albums had ANTi at 6.1M, DW at 6.2M and Lemonade at 4.3M. Please note that these figures were last updated in 2019 and I'm pretty sure they don't include China sales.
  7. In the US maybe. Global album units have DW well ahead of Lemonade and on par with Anti.
  8. Oh please the "music" itself isn't queer or elevating queer visibility. The video which is completely unrelated to the song is DESIGNED to generate controversy and be the topic of conversation. He did his best to fan the flames of any backlash he could find and make them blow up. Anyone following his Twitter account knows how he operates. He's essentially a stan that has now gained access to label support. He uses every tactic in the book to generate streams and get people to talk about him. He even went as far as lying about the song being removed from music services due to censorship to get people to buy the song before it's too late. Billboard had to write an article debunking it. What that other user said about him and his label moving in a way to generate maximum cash flow is 100% true. To try to pass these attempts off as some sort of artistry is incredibly naive. FYI Columbia records signed LNX as soon as they saw OTR (a song he made as a joke) gaining traction and they're the ones who secured Billy Ray Cyrus for a remix to help it blow up even more. OT: Very well deserved for Bruno
  9. How does it have such a high familiarity and burn out rate it's barely been played yet
  10. I was over simplifying to keep things short but yeah. The end result is that you if you have only two singles you won't benefit from them being absolute smashes and it won't make a difference even if they're flops. It's more nuanced than even what you said because what they do is they remove the streams of the top two streamed songs every weak and adjust it to the mean of the next 10 songs, throwing away the streams of all the rest of the songs. They calculate this every week so it's entirely possible that the two chosen songs in one week is different from the next. It's really a flawed rule because it incentivizes artists to keep adding singles to their albums (what Dua Lipa does). If you merge the hits of two projects into one you will lose out on the album units of only two hits instead of 4.
  11. Even album units are down as well. It's because of their stupid rule where they don't count the streams from the top two best performing songs on the album. That's why you either need to have a whole lot of singles or you need to be good with pure sales.
  12. Yeah "Mood" is very catchy but it aged for me I'm really tired of hearing it all the time. Btw what do the double asterisks mean next to some of the song names in the update?
