listening to II HANDS II HEAVEN after having the Nasty remix EP on repeat earlier and now I feel submissive and breedable as much as I complain about the handling of this album, this song makes me feel so many things - sensual and romantic alike

Tinashe - "Nasty"
also something about the pitched down vocals in the Match My Sleek remix kinda making me feel something

the remixes proving how great the melody is

Kim Petras & Doja allowed to work with Dr Luke, but not Katy. Why?
Again, different situations AND those girls absolutely get lashings for it when they work with him. Everyone who's sought him out after 2014 deserves every ounce of criticism for it - Latto, Nicki, JLo, Saweetie, etc. If they don't catch as much flack as Kim, maybe it has more to do with how he's not all over their work the way he is on hers - even Doja branches out to other producers more often. They all deserve to be dragged for it, but she gets a proportional amount to how involved he is in her music. Conflating the transphobia Kim faces with the legitimate critique she gets for enabling a rapist does her a great disservice. There are other trans artists out there doing their thing without relying on a predator, so that excuse doesn't fly either.

ugh im crossing my fingers Chappell Roan just rescheduled shows she had right around the VMAs, so it seems like they likely reached out to her. Our girl has already done pre-show hosting for them, so hopefully those connections are still good and they see it's finally her moment.

okay so basically we're moving the goalposts and twisting their words to make it seem like they're big bully meanies, got it

So you acknowledge that they were private texts, but also want to act like they were saying these things in a public manner? I'm genuinely confused as to what you think happened because these ideas are inherently contradictory. They were not saying these things directly to Katy - they were discussing between themselves. Also emotions can in fact be complicated - you can be frustrated with someone and still be empathetic. Things aren't always black and white where you can only think and feel one thing about someone at a time.

Not denying that Kim gets transphobic hate, but her criticism specifically related to Luke stems from that partnership starting AFTER Kesha's lawsuit. Doja doesn't get less heat because she's cis - she's openly expressed frustration about working with Luke for years + she signed to him before the news broke. Even without knowing her specific contract details, they're obviously different situations.

There's certainly a lot of imagining here because this was a private conversation between Kesha and Gaga - neither one of them was nasty to Katy herself about this situation. There was no "telling an alleged victim they're not strong enough or they're mean" to begin with. They both literally talk about having empathy for her in this situation (or what they thought was the situation). Besides, is anyone always 100% cautious about optics when they vent privately to friends?

like i understand crafting something that's meant to be heard as an entire body of work, but that cutoff is SLOPPY like Jay's hole when she's done with it

This is the crazy thing to me. Katy has 15+ years of industry connections, and her fans constantly tried to deflect any drags about her Idol stint because of how much she was getting paid per season. You mean to tell me a veteran with all those personal and financial resources can't hire LITERALLY anyone else to work on music with her? That for some reason she just has to work with her former friend's rapist???

I saw a reel from a novelty taxidermy shop using the song- Beyoncé
but I was told the way she and her team fumbled the first batch of vinyl wouldn't have any impact on her selling power? do you mean to tell me that a lack of transparency and quality control (on the manufacturing, before anyone gets their chromatica jockstrap in a twist) lowers consumer confidence? who could've seen that one coming- Beyoncé
comparing fans who won't stroke her ego for every single business venture of hers to a woman who shot and killed the singer she was embezzling from has to be one of the boldest takes I've seen in here- Beyoncé
how you gon' neglect this? you is just a hot mess- Charli before performing Sympathy Is A Knife: "Artistry shines through"
the swifties in here trying to get in these "autotune! can't sing!" drags when they're the same people who turn around to say "vocals aren't everything" the moment Taylor is compared to stronger singers the lyric cherry picking immediately backfiring with entire threads the usual tired shift to homophobia and lowkey racism to try and downplay an entire genre of music- Beyoncé
At this rate either Nadia will have to leak them herself or they're gonna be relegated to something like Tubi just to maximize exposure to recoup the costs- Beyoncé
II LEAST WANTED is doing fewer daily streams than certain second singles from 2020 btw if we wanna put this era's mismanagement into perspective- Beyoncé
for someone who loves to call everyone else slow, they sure did miss out on you being a longtime contributor to the thread and your multiple times seeing her (including transatlantic trips lmao). even in places they wouldn't be able to see, you praise her when it's deserved + she's come up in our verbal conversations before. but no, we cant call ourselves fans if we're not 150% positive about her every single career decision let me go do a cécred enema to repent since I have critiques on how she's handling this album- Tinashe - "Nasty"
when they win their first grammys next year and then collab again - Katy Perry - "Woman's World"
