Nowadays, there is a new hot artist every 2-3 months. TikTok challenges, Insta reels, videogames have a much bigger pull. People tend to find random small artists and DJs on streaming services. Even music without any lyrics is becoming more and more popular, especially with gen-z & gen-alpha (phonk, drift etc). I have a feeling we have moved from having a big number of huge songs every year being overplayed on Radio/TV to instead have many more smaller hits. Points for BB Hot 100 have been really low lately, which just shows that GP's attention is divided across multiple songs/artists/genres now.
