  1. There's a difference between rap and hip-hop. Rap is a vocal technique while hiphop is more genre/cultural based. Even on pop songs, Nicki raps with better technique, flow, and cadence than any other rap girl out now. So yes, Nicki can claim the 'queen of RAP' title since she does in fact RAP on most of her songs. Queen of hiphop is more debatable.
  2. I'm not sure this album can be used as proof of 'Cardi coming back smashing' after all these years. The older songs are doing some heavy lifting when it comes to the overall album stats/records. And they're her songs so she can do whatever she wants but clearly she is past her prime hitmaker days (her prime was 2017-2021). None of her songs post-Up even comes close to comparing to her stats pre-Up. And she's released several singles since Up with videos, radio push and all. These days she's getting cute one week high debuts and then lingers in the bottom half of the charts (thanks to radio) but the streams/views aren't very good.
  3. That tweet is wrong. AITD definitely has a deluxe with tracks that aren't on the standard version. Besides, both albums have about the same amount of tracks across all versions anyway.
  4. There is a lot to update actually. Some songs haven't been certified at all and some haven't been updated since release year (like Anaconda which currently sits only at 2x plat since Nov 2014 even though its pure sales alone is close to 2 million). Her eligible certifications for her lead credits puts her well past the 100 million mark.
  5. Less streams than PF2 Less pure sales than PF2
  6. This is respectable but a lot of people made this about Nicki which makes it seem underwhelming.
  7. There's a whole lot of confusion going on because Billboard/Luminate is filtering a good chunk of her pure sales with all the new rules. Cardi/Atlantic knows this but their goal is to get more money because even though a lot of her website sales won't count for Billboard, those sales still exist and is more money for the label + it will count for RIAA. That's why Cardi is playing coy because she knows if fans realize how much is being filtered, they might get discouraged and stop buying and at the end of the day, the label just wants more sales whether it counts for BB or not.
  8. TBH, yes. Looking at her last few releases where she’s the main artist: SFG #1 (25 weeks on chart) DWHAP #2 (13 weeks on chart) RRDS #13 (8 weeks on chart & currently rising) Since 2016, only Chun Li (main credited songs only) lasted more than 5 weeks on the charts so she’s def been doing better these last few releases. Only Bussin didn’t chart long but I don’t think that was really pushed as a single like the other 3.
  9. This is an unfair comparison since music consumption has changed so much. Eg. Pink Friday sold 2 million pure in the US alone. That’s equivalent to 20M song units. That in addition to the 25M units from the actual songs on that album put PF at over 45M units at least.
  10. OMG, did anyone even fact check the source in the OP. The source is literally just a tweet from a Cardi/Remy Stan and the court doc in the tweet has nothing to do with Anaconda. It’s a lawsuit regarding Rich Sex that we already knew about.
  11. This is why I don’t get the whole ‘barbz were stream farming’ thing. Nicki has released songs after SFG that don’t even debut with 1.5 million streams. Like the latest World Cup song that barbz have been trying to push. Yet, they want to believe that SFG’s streams are ‘inorganic’ despite it still doing so well all these days later.
  12. Am I missing something here? So Cardi admits to having women PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED and people here are celebrating her light punishment while shading/bashing Nicki for alleged harassment? I guess the people here aren’t really bashing Nicki for morals but just out of hate.
  13. This part has always seemed overstated to me, and in hindsight, the idea that Bodak Yellow lead to an influx of mainstream female rappers definitely doesn’t hold true. It’s been five years since Bodak and you can probably count on one hand the amount of pure rap ‘hits’ by females since then. Female rappers definitely have more visibility presently thanks to social media and whatnot but chart-wise, they are barely performing better than the girls who were scoring minor hits during Nicki’s prime (Pre Cardi).
  14. She’s doing fine for a female artist about to turn 40. She’s obviously past her commercial peak but considering what we’ve seen in the past with female artists at a certain point, it could be much worse (not charting at all).
  15. TBH, Nicki can just keep collecting these quick peaks. Back in her prime, she had plenty of long charting songs that didn’t peak high and now it’s the opposite. Plus she’s one of the most streamed female artists ever so in a way, it all balances out.
