What a raucous follow-up to Brat. Charli can truly do anything she wants and make it sound excellent. This muted, molasses melancholy vibe feels so timely and poignant. Good for her.

It's not delusional in the slightest. The Brat and Sweat tour were clear indicators that the mainstream backed her sparse production as well-rounded entertainment. Charli and Gaga are both incredibly intentional and thoughtful regarding their art, the only real difference is their available budget. I'm not comparing their vocal ability here as their vocal skills both compliment their own entertainment styles, I'm speaking purely as entertainers. Give Charli the budget they give Gaga and I'm sure she could retain mainstream attention but this album alone already has garnered decent buzz. Either way, both have already proven they can smash commercially on the lack of one.

My friend and I have said for years that she has what it takes to be Gaga's successor and her selling out arenas with no grandiose production aside from rave lighting and herself just goes to show it.
