Are you annoyed by super short songs?

Featured Replies

First time listening to it and 2:11... :rip:

I'm glad there are still artists who care about doing full songs because I find the "super short songs = more streams" trend to be very annoying honestly.

It can be easily solved - Spotify needs to start measuring songs' popularity by the time users spend on listening to them.

I absolutely hate the short song trend. It is becoming rarer and rarer to find a mainstream artist not following the trend. I know streaming is the reason why but I still do not like it.

Extremely. TikTok has completely ruined the attention span of people and it's tiring :skull: this 1:30 - 2:30 era of songs is absolutely frustrating. Missing the days of 3:45 pop songs

I don't think it's fair to use PinkPantheress as an example in this conversation.

I’m more bothered when they blatantly trying to get a tiktok hit, is so lame :skull:

There are some great short songs.

And Billboard should also do the same, it would be way better

Nothing against her, I don't know anything about her/her music, I was just curious to listen to this song since it's gaining a lot of attention

It's an annoying trend but don't underestimate Gen Z and how randomly lengthier songs like A&W, ATW smash

Why not? Her top 5 popular songs on Spotify are basically ringtones:

Boy's A Liar Part 2: 2:11

Boy's A Liar = 2:11

Pain = 1:38

Break It Off = 1:36

I Must Apologize = 1:48

Like :rip:

OT: Yeah, I hate it, it's just straight up laziness at this point...

and dont get me started on the sped up and pitched versions of songs that are already too short. mess

No. Who has time for 5 minute songs? I always skip to the halfway mark in those cases

Its so annoying how songs from the 80s will have a minute long instrumental opening. Like, get to the point

Because her music is not purposefully short to get more streams and a hit on TikTok? :rip:

Yes. Ava's album suffered because of it. So many songs that were catchy and had a great base but then just ended abruptly when there should have been a bridge. :rip:

my other fave is sort of Rihtired but she only has a handful of short songs so it's fine

Sometimes, if the song is really good and I just want more. But in general no. Adding length just for the sake of it can kill the vibe. See: Lightning by Charli XCX. Let songs run their course!
