Yeah their management of the era was fine. I think the label was to blame cause they 100% didn't want Fifth Harmony to thrive for [REDACTED] reasons. The bookings were good and they even did lip sync battle which was big at the time, VMAs, Good Morning America, hella show bookings including the asia tour which was cool, and multiple videos (Down, No Angel, Deliver, He Like That). Can't really ask for more than that tbh.

I agree + idk how she would escape her contract at RCA/Sony with only one album. That brings me to Wikipedia (of all places): "The label [Jive Records] was revived in 2026 by RCA as an independent entity within the Sony Music umbrella. Mike Weiss and David Melhado were appointed as co-presidents of the newly revived label.". It's a pretty easy convo for the larger RCA to say "Hey let's move Normani back into another smaller entity. We didn't really want to lead on her in the first place but we don't want her to leave completely". Also this is an easy explanation to RCA (and some Sony social accounts internationally!!!) still posting her. I'm sure there's people at Sony/RCA who would advocate to keep Normani cause she's technically been in that family/world since Fifth Harmony days (with Epic Records) and she has a A+ reputation behind the scenes at Sony. People know she's super professional, never bad mouths her label or team, and fits this era of music well. Also, they can see her social media engagement is still good when she does post things vs starting fresh with a newer artist.

This is why we need to start a list of potential Normani Album 2 producers. If she has multiple big names, she's def not independent. She's been with Khris a lot. If he's the main or only producer of the album, she could be independent. Who else has she been working with?

The word around is multiple big labels froze their marketing spend for Q4 2026, so all their major releases are moved to 2027. For Normani this means if she is at a major label, they aren't going to move her to drop an album last min this year or even drop a single. Lydia should focus on as much performance bookings as she can for the rest of the year and brand deals. Maybe get Normani to do a couple viral dance trends on tiktok from KPOP groups or something which will give her easy buzz.

Honestly, Kiss should have been treated like this. I don't understand why Demi Lovato in the US is basically like blacklisted. People refuse to accept she can make bops and gas them up or go viral on tiktok. If she launched that project more in Europe and focused on European promo first, it might have been received better.

Yup, Normani is rarely afforded grace online. People just default to anger despite the fact Normani did nothing actually wrong or bad lol. Normani never been one of the artists we gotta "cancel" weekly for stuff. Anyways, Lydia is a good manager when an era is actually going (based on her track record). My one red flag is nobody really knows why she stopped managing Coco Jones, not that long after they got the grammy. With that said, Coco went downhill after that run. She also switch up her choreographers and it's been a mess for her. She switched her team up a bit out of nowhere despite having HIGH success.
