  1. The director of this movie directed ''Can You Ever Forgive Me?'' and ''A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood '', which got a lot of praise and nominations for their performances, so I understand her interest in working with her.
  2. Also, I want to say to all of these people saying ''They should vandalize a CEO's house'': You do it! Organize with people in your area and DO IT. If you see others failing to realize that which you want to see, it's your turn to step up.
  3. I mean, like You have Bowen Yang in SNL, Joel Kim Booster, who just starred in ''Fire Island'', Julio Torres... I like Billy Eichner, and it is true that there are gay men who hate gay celebrities because of self-hatred or whatever, but it's okay to not like his comedy, no one is going to call you a ''bad gay'' for doing so.
  4. I don't usually post comments such as the one I'm about to post, but you know what would have been bad for students too? Their parents/legal guardians and teachers dying. This was an unknown virus/disease, with no treatment whatsoever, so, as bad or unorganized as lockdowns of any kind in 2020 might have been, they were better than nothing.
  5. Don't leave out the fact that the UK saw a major life expectancy drop in 2020 though... All of the arguments here have been discussed over and over on the main thread on COVID, but to me it always amounts to the same: the two countries' approach to present their own set of problems. I don't think the Chinese approach would work anywhere else, and it shouldn't, basically because other countries have been able to promote social distancing, softer lockdowns (compared to China's) and mask mandates when needed, and they've had access to vaccines, which most of the population has willingly taken. The US' strategy, though, is highly problematic as well: making healthcare a business rather than an essential public service is a major structural issue, specially during a pandemic that has killed millions. Major politicians and public figures disregarding masks, vaccines, or any other measure against COVID, or the CDC changing its guidelines to appease politicians and businesses, all are key reasons why there are more than a million death in the US, and why the conversation on Long Covid is not as mainstream as it should be: the profit machine can't stop.
  6. Her ideas might not be expressed like those tweets, but her ideas are bigoted, and are embraced by like-minded bigots, who can influence law-makers to pass laws that get trans people killed (see the US, for instance).
  7. The absolute disregard for both monkeypox and Covid
  8. This is a lie And another Spanish thread, made by a supposed man who'd been infected after buying a scooter from someone else, has also been shown to be a lie. https://twitter.com/pekweet/status/1554225927256686592?s=20&t=alHSlg7I_mIMkn-uBAaeTw
  9. While that is true, there's a huge number of cases coming (no pun intended) from close contact through sex, so I believe it would be best, in an individual level, to reduce your number of partners, and taking precautions if you're in crowded places (mask, washing of hands when possible -if you'd stopped doing that-).
  10. What Owen is reacting to is people being outraged by the fact that the CDC is prioritizing MSM What people (apparent progressives) on social media, such as the one user to whom Owen is replying on the screenshot, are failing to realize is that the main problem with HIV/AIDS was that GOVERNMENTS LET LGBTQ PEOPLE GET SICK AND DIE.
