  1. Dua had a bit of an edge to her atleast, something Katy Perry never possessed IMO and Future Nostalgia > any album from Katheryn
  2. There are so many artists who were hot during the COVID years (late 2019-2021) that just seem to have declined or fizzled out fast post-pandemic like Roddy Ricch, DaBaby, Dua Lipa, Lil Nas X, Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, 6ix9ine, Cardi B, etc. It's crazy.
  3. One of her best for sure . It helped her soften her image but it still had that Madonna edge to it. It went like this.. Backlash Era (1992-1993) Softer Image / Transitional Period (1994-1997) Imperial Phase / Reinvention (1998-1999) Erotica Bedtime Stories / Something to Remember / Evita Ray of Light
  4. This just reminded me of the fact that 2008 was such a packed year geesh lol. Madonna also dropped that year, Rihanna re-issued her album, & Katy / Gaga made their debuts .
  5. Perfectly executed era. Hopefully she returns to form with DC5
  6. Not at all. Taylor is omnipresent you literally can't escape her . I just left the grocery store and almost every magazine at the check out lane was a Taylor Swift cover lol. I also just heard Fortnight at the store too
  7. Like a Virgin / True Blue The Bodyguard Come On Over ...Baby One More Time / Oops... I Did It Again (two blockbuster eras back to back like this is still insane. This is one instance where basically repeating the same formula worked perfectly) 21
  8. I agree about Like a Prayer being tied in with Vogue / I'm Breathless / Dick Tracy / Blond Ambition / Immaculate Collection / Justify My Love / and that time period of 1989-1991 all feels tied together although apart of me thinks of Like a Prayer as its own separate era because of the black hair she wore in the Like a Prayer video lol but then she jumped right into her 'Blond Ambition' bag with Express Yourself that foreshadowed the tour. But yes this era was definitely Madge's peak overall commercially & most importantly culturally. Its why she was able to risk it all next era with something like Erotica / Sex Book / Body of Evidence and survive. Its also interesting that The Immaculate Collection sold double of what the Like a Prayer album did
  9. Exactly, its clear that Cardi writes and participates in the making of her music. All her music is literally an honest reflection of her infectious personality. That is a key ingredient to her success imo, her music is fun, enjoyable and reflects her personality and who she is. Nothing pretentious or try hard about it. And having co-writers is literally the standard in popular music, Nicki is no exception.

  11. Yes Bickenhead for sure. That was one of my faves. I think Drip wouldv'e been a smash for Cardi & Migos if it had gotten the single treatment with a hot video. They probably were so with the quick move because the album garnered a significant amount of success in such a short amount of time. Multi platinum with several multiplatinum singles and every song from the album and the Grammy was the icing on the cake. Despite what her detractors say, Cardi certainly made her mark on female rap with this album. In the words of the other girl "to be the queen you gotta sell records, you gotta get plaques" Its funny that the standard suddenly changed once someone came along who truly rivaled her in terms over commercial/mainstream viability, popularity, numbers, sales, records, etc Then suddenly it was about having "bars", writing, and the pen lol
  12. Yes! They definitely dropped the ball with Money. It could've done much more. But is it just me or did they not milk Invasion of Privacy as long as the could've? There were legit like several more smashes on that album that deserved the video/single treatment. They moved on too quick, Money felt like it was originally intended to be the lead single for the sophomore album
