  1. I mean.. there is truth in that she only started to become the face of activism when it was acceptable to do so.. there was no risk, if anything, it made her bigger.. big contrast to the artists who really got boycotted by major corporations so their music wouldn't be played on the radio
  2. filters? she's using a pic with an AI voice, it's a joke..
  3. always thought anyone famous gotta be a bit of a sociopath in that they would be okay with so many people knowing and judging them.. but then social media happened and very few people seem to feel shame, so Im not so sure about that anymore..
  4. I know you're a fan, but whenever someone uses this gif, I always have to laugh.. as he's one to talk. and the fact that she let it in the film and pokes fun at herself in the same way should show that she's very much aware and making fun of those very people who say that about her. meanwhile, haters feel so clever using it against her. a lot of men still can't cope with opinionated women, especially when they're flirtatious or present themselves in a sexual way on camera. Guy R didn't like that part of her and she actually gave in for years out of love and toned it down.
  5. thank you always be wary of these articles or "studies". there's a lot of people who use it whenever it comes in handy to pat themselves on the back. but there other people who take it seriously and use it to try to make sense of the world. they study events and historical figures, not themselves
  6. She hung out with Eric Labat (a Belgian musician) last Thursday. He's 37. Strange we have this rumour of the boxer now. Ive looked at videos of him, and he doesn't seem very bright to me.. maybe a wrong first impression.. is he a big deal in the boxing scene?
  7. aside from the maluma and Anita songs, it's very uncommercial and different. the instrumentals and weird production choices
  8. so.. if celebs start saying "free Palestine" after losing followers or their pr telling them to do so, ya'll will follow them back? this is so performative.. but very fitting for today's superficial culture
  9. Ya'll dontknow about Madonna Infinity? It's very active for a forum..
  10. Bob said 19 million people watched the livestream.. so add to that the 50mil that watched it on tv
  11. Several prominent Bolsonaristas were among the 1.6 million people who packed one of Brazil's most famous beaches to see the 65-year-old artist perform. Reports in the Brazilian press said Jair Bolsonaro's lawyer and former communications secretary Fabio Wajngarten; Rio's Bolsonarista governor, Cláudio Castro; and a Bolsonarista senator called Jorge Seif all turned out to see the final show of Madonna's Celebration tour. Wajngarten was filmed punching the air as the pop superstar sang her 2005 hit Hung Up, although his self-conscious dance moves did not impress Brazilian choreophiles Castro was photographed at the show alongside Wajngarten, a pro-Bolsonaro politician called Renato Araújo, and the makeup artist of Jair Bolsonaro's wife, Michelle. Also present was Seif, who was subsequently forced to publicly apologize for his sinful Saturday night "I've let my voters down," Seif told the senate on Tuesday, asking for forgiveness for attending an event he thought inappropriate for "defenders of the family and Judaeo-Christian values". "When we let people down and we come to understand that we got it wrong we need to do something that the Holy Bible teaches, which is ask for forgiveness," Seif said. At another point in the concert Madonna appeared alongside the Brazilian drag queen and singer Pabllo Vittar to perform Music – another outrage to supporters of Bolsonaro, who was notorious for his hostility to the LGBTQ+ community and his self-declared homophobia. To rub salt in Bolsonarista wounds, Madonna and Vittar did so while waving Brazil's yellow and green flag – the main symbol of Bolsonaro's far-right religious nationalist movement. https://www.theguardian.com/music/article/2024/may/08/madonna-concert-bolsonaro-far-right
  12. sorry but it's very ****** up how atrl allows this sorta talk to happen, yet warns people for so many other little things
  13. I remember in the 00s being a Madonna fan and getting a little embarrassed by the "queen of pop" title they give, as it underrates everything else.. she's part of the whole culture, politics, the world conversation.. it's not just about songs, it's the videos, the tours, the discussions, the ART..
  14. People have to be really scared.. there must be big powers behind the scenes demanding this, otherwise I'm sure most of them would at least vocally protest this. We don't know. It's easy for us, on the outside, to criticise and throw hate "why aren't they speaking??!" I think in private, many of them might be helping, but they can't voice it in public (PS. Madonna actually has supported them, but in subtle ways: white flag of surrender during her show, letting her dancers wave the Palestinian flag during songs, speeches about stopping the war, but it's true she's a lot more careful and subtle than she normally would be, I think because her manager is Israeli and seems to be on their side-she always used to be THE most vocal of any artist when things like this happened and has helped girls education in Palestine schools before)
  15. well, she's Italian.. that's kinda Latina.
  16. This is also important: The news came from Erlan Bastos' column EM OFF. Yet, according to the same journalist, Madonna decided to keep the donation private.
  17. Madonna's free concert in Brazil over the weekend hosted one of the biggest crowds in history Economic impact: $49.5 million (R$293) Copacabana hotels: 98% capacity Rio airports: handled 170 extra flights Absolutely ridiculous numbers
  18. Singer Madonna donated R$17 million to help flood victims in Rio Grande do Sul. (SOURCE: Jornal O Globo). The news came from Erlan Bastos' column EM OFF. Yet, according to the same journalist, Madonna decided to keep the donation private.
  19. Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone is officially an honorary citizen of Rio de Janeiro!
  20. teens from the Brazilian marching band saying Madonna was super sweet and nice and gave them Airforce shoes. someone wanted to know what she smelled like "My friend, she smells VERY GOOD! Rich smell"
  21. why does it say 1.5mil? that was the estimate before the show, but LN says 1.6 mil (others more..)
  22. ONE right wing nut with one like in a reply, claiming left wing media is to blame. "I hear.." they just gotta see the audience of the Rolling Stones (1.5m) and compare it with M (1.6m) and watch the videos. In fact, Brazilian press AND CNN claim the number is far bigger than 1.6.
