Has Taylor turned into once a lifetime phenomena like The Beatles and MJ
I think people are going to be so surprised how relatively forgotten Taylor is going to be the moment she slows down. Sales can only keep you in the spotlight for so long. Many people have been “commercial phenomenons”, but it takes a lot more than that to really leave an impression on the music industry in the way that MJ and The Beatles have. -que post about songwriting-

Rihanna - "Lift Me Up"
If you have someone that you really feel this way about…phew.

Rihanna - "Lift Me Up"
This song is so gorgeous. Some people don’t understand simplicity and nuance. If you really resonate with the lyrics it hits so much more. Here she sounds genuinely emotional and not trying to show off anything. It’s understanded like she’s singing to her lover. I love it.

YESSSS! You get it. she would MURDER this. It's soooo stunning. Especially if she goes into a more improvisational approach and make it soulful/introspective. Almost like a folklore approach, but obviously not like that at all. I think there's people that would love to hear more of that in her music and I bet it would resonate with a lot these new fans she's getting with Renaissance. I've seen a lot of reaction videos saying that this is their first time listening to a Beyoncé album fully.

And I maybe in the minority, but I still think the I Am side of Sasha Fierce is still some of her most beautiful and melancholy work. I listened to That’s Why You’re Beautiful the other day and almost cried. It was weird. I’d totally be down for some sounds a la Radiohead, Perfume Genius, Moses Sumney. I think I’d suit her gorgeous voice so well and would breathe new life into the genre. Frank made me revisit love a lot of rock songs with Nostalgia Ultra with his voice and instrumentation. Maybe even dabble in the jazzy side of things too. I’d be here for it.

I’d totally be here for country in the vein of how it began. In the vein blues, soul, bluegrass, etc. A sound more like Aaron Neville, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles kind of vibe but more modern. Dark and smoky. Definitely wouldn’t be here for a contemporary country sound and I don’t think she’d be either.

Britney opens up in 20 min video "I was a robot"
I’ve never wanted a comeback from somebody harder in my life. I can’t believe Britney went though all of that. It’s so fascinating to hear her so coherent and aware, even mentioning her robotic performances. It puts everything in a new perspective now. I wish her a fruitful recovery. Imagine her coming back, healthy, in her right mind and actually serving like the early 2000’s with passion and drive. Never been a Britney stan, but she and her fans deserve that.

I think it’s just annoying that we’re the only fan base that has to deal with scenarios like this, but I truly think she has something up her sleeve this time.

Mother- Is Adele losing at the Grammys this time?
Damn I totally forgot about The Weekend not even being NOMINATED? Like what the hell? They're telling on themselves at this point. "Channel Orange", "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City", "BEYONCE´", "To Pimp A Butterfly", "Lemonade", and "DAMN all being not only musically groundbreaking and pushing music forward, but also spotlights in each other artists careers...only to lose to the safest, derivative music is disappointing as hell. I will ever forget the night Bey lost to Beck. I don't dislike Adele at all, but her music is the definition of derivative and predictable. I already just about know what he next lead single is going to sound like for her next LP.- Is Adele losing at the Grammys this time?
Could you imagine if all black/POC artists stop submitting and performing at the Grammy's? Could you imagine how dry it would be? I'd be sooooo here for it.- Is Adele losing at the Grammys this time?
Also, not giving accolades to black artists and genres that are known to have samples is inherently racist in itself. Beyoncé also is always listed as the first writer for every song for Renaissance. The other "writers" that are included are because of the samples for the most part. Because of the nature of the album (giving these older genres and artists some light and paying homage) is a huge part of the concept for Renaissance. It makes sense in that aspect. There have been other AOTY winners that have a good amount of writers as well (SpeakerBoxx/The Love Below, 24K Magic, etc). Then there are some AOTY winners where they didn't write hardly anything at all (The Suburbs, Raising Sand, Falling Into You,The Bodyguard Soundtrack., etc), so I don't understand the "they only award writers" argument. It's also hilarious considering how black people have been the forefront of not only whats popular, but the creators and tastemakers for just about every musical genre enjoyed today.- Nicki Minaj - "Super Freaky Girl"
It didn’t feel right that Nicki didn’t have a #1 of her own. Glad to see it may be happening!- Hot 100 early predictions (Winston): As It Was 11x #1, Super Freak Girl #2
She obviously deserved this regardless of how problematic she’s been over the years. Get it Onika.- Beyoncé
