I don't think Rosé will top this era (or more like the APT era) celebrity or success wise but she's made such a huge impact in the Western pop scene. I think she showed that a (bilingual) K-pop idol really can break through, be Grammy nominated, give personal and intimate interviews, get brand deals, do Western promo

If the industry is smart they'll try to make some daughters

Twin is most likely about her friend Chahee who she was very close with in like 2017-2020 and then they stopped hanging out for some reason

Not to downplay the obvious success she had but when you say this I think there's some important context of said idol being raised her entire childhood in western english-speaking countries and the album being straight up western pop. This isn't like some local korean girlie breaking new ground in her native language

APT probably will remain the highest high that blackpink or any individual member ever hits though

These days the majority of kpop idols are doing western promo and everyone has brand deals. There are more idols at paris fashion week than there are on inkigayo

Well yes that's why I said bilingual, I fear Korea's culture is just too reserved for Western audiences, so a Korean girl who grew up in the West would obviously be the first to really get a global grip solo wise.

Also I'm well aware that idols do Western promo and endorsements, but that is very much for the K-pop audience in Western countries. Rosé just did a Superbowl ad with Levi's, she opened the Grammys, like these are different opportunities than having a midday slot at Coachella or being on GMA
