There is a gulf of quality between Lana's music and ******* Joanne. Gaga is not a bad writer (not as good or consistent as Lana though) but Joanne is her worst.

I'm not talking about quality here even. Just weird how gays who supposedly love Lana can't handle Gaga doing a Joanne, a Harlequin, a C2C, or any ballad, and don't seem to listen to many 1950s artists but love Lana. It just seems like bandwagoning to me. Especially since a bunch of Lana stans hate on Taylor and Lorde when they are closest in overall vibe to Lana. They even drag Ethel. It's just so obvious they think of her as a currency.

I mean, there's virtually no comparison between Gaga and Lana other than them both being somewhat influenced by jazz. Taylor/Lorde/Ethel are closest to Lana's vibe because they were all influenced by her. None of them quite captured the magic of her music though so it makes sense that some Lana stans wouldn't be a fan.

Like do people actually think this song is strong from a melodic perspective? Would they defend it if it wasn't released by Lana?
