Okay so

 

What an album. A lot of the time, k/jpop group concepts feel so corny to me, so upon discovering f5ve like a year ago, "international dream agents" made me roll my eyes. But I thought the idea of a j/kpop group created by American producers was interesting and I really liked firetruck. As they released each single, I grew to like them a lot more. While yes, I was annoyed at each songs length, each new single painted a bigger picture of the groups concept.  Short bursts of high energy, taking you through whimsical worlds reflective of reality, like flying through multiple dreams in one night.

 

UFO might be my most played track of the last 6 months, I only just realized recently this one was produced by AG ❤️ Firetruck is great, I love the classic Sophie vehicular pop sound, I've grown to really love Underground, and Jump was my favorite of the new tracks. I love how each song captures many forms of JPOP, like Perfume, while also channeling newer acts like XG. Bow Chika Wow Wow reminds me of Gwen Stefani's Crash, Real Girl sounds like an Anime intro for a love drama.

 

The biggest flaw is that I didn't get to experience all these tracks for the first time together, with half the album (and arguably the better tracks) being released spread out over the past year.

MAGIC CLOCK (10/10)

UNDERGROUND (10/10)

FIRETRUCK (9/10)

BCWW (8/10)

SUGAR FREE VENOM (8/10)

LETTUCE (7/10)

REAL GIRL (7/10)

TELEVISION (6/10)

 

I hope they gain fans from Kesha's base, and I think more Charli/ AG fans should take note.

But anyway,

I'm going to cry to Jump and fall asleep dreaming about being a ladybug.

Eh personally not liking these new tracks besides Real Girl and Jump, they are a bit too simplistic and sing-talking when in reality they shine best with more melodic approach (UFO, Underground, Magic Clock)

 

Real Girl is my favorite, it just very Asian pop with its crazy chord progressions

Wish the tracklisting was different but other than that its one for the history books

 

The acclaim everywhere

 

Very solid release I love it! Bow Chicka Wow Wow was my personal favorite for the new ones

What a wonderful album.

A bit disappointed.

I was expecting more sounds like Ufo or Underground, but it's actually very urban. Not a bad album, just not what I was expecting.

Bow Chika Wow Wow has been stuck in my head all day  these divas got me in a chokehold with all these bops. AOTY

this is a great pop album i really enjoyed it!

she's close second for me. then ruri, rui, kaede...

 

I know kaede is the most popular member cuz of her physical attributes but i think the other members are more interesting... though kaede does have a very good personality tbh

rui's purple wig look on ufo video is my favorite look ever of them. my fav part of any of their vids is when she jumps and smiles in that video ugh so good.

 

sayaka has my second fav look in the underground video. she looked SEVERE up in there.

 

Miyuu has a lot of my fav or close second fav looks in all of their videos though so i think she's def my bias
