Black Eyed Peas for me. They were mega successful, but I could never find a single person who actually bought or liked their music after the first two albums with Fergie.

It's happening right now as we speak with the rollout of that singer Lola Young, it's very obvious they are trying to force her down everyone's throats and it's kind of annoying.
 

Then again she's rising up through the same system that Ellie Goulding once did and she stuck, so only time will tell if Lola lasts too.

Kendrick Lamar's commercial success exceeds expectations because ever since the south took over mainstream hip hop anything remotely lyrical or "conscious" (dumb term) isn't supposed to be commercially viable. He managed it somehow.

 

Bland,boring & basic music tends to do best commercially so any artist actually going against that grain and still seeing mainstream level success is already beating the odds. Gotta commend them even if I don't like the music myself.
