I think it feels that way because most of the songs seem early 3rd gen influenced aside from GOLDEN (I AM, ive)

More people getting their energy filled these days.

Now can we talk about K.A.R.D each mini album were supposed to be digital single and the members have to work HARD to make it a mini album.

I think you missed my point, which is that YG didn't really want  her to have a fair shot. Lifted wasn't just quite forgettable, it had minimal press and teasing. It also wasn't allowed to release until after Blackpink's debut, despite CL having been in the US for nearly a year at that point. CL also never was allowed to sign an American record deal the way her successors were, which was why she spent her whole time in the US building business connections on behalf of YG. CL had a management agreement with Scooter Braun(who people forget managed complete flops like Tori Kelly and Idina Menzel), not a record deal. Lifted was released through YG and didn't get an ounce of push through radio or other promotional verticals except for ones that CL did herself with Scooter's help, YG was useless and didn't even buy youtube views for it like they were notorious for doing during 2nd gen and early 3rd gen. Hitmakers and American labels wanted to work with CL, she recorded demos for several of the biggest hits of the 2010s, YG just didn't let her release anything.

 

The Boa comparison doesn't mean much when she had the entire force her her label behind her and CL didn't. Also Alpha only sold 12k copies so we're not talking a huge difference in results despite CL having a literal decade to drum up hype and get her name out there and being infinitely more famous than Boa outside of Asia.  Label support matters more than external factors.
