God dbree isn't working, I'm at work, my computer that allows me access to my NZ iTunes account is broken...I hate it here!!!!! 
 

I liked Zig a lot (too short tho) but I'm so excited to hear her return to metal. I Disagree is one of the best albums of all time 

Just put it on I'm READY

 

I could write entire paragraphs about this album, and I will (on my blog), but here all I'm gonna say is there is NO WAY she willingly recorded these songs, not after how much heart and soul you could tell she put in the Zig tracks.  The spark is just gone on most of the songs here...

 

That being said, the lyrics are quite beautiful. The highlights for me are 'surviving on defiance' (!!), 'push go', 'crystallized', 'have you had enough?' and maybe the title track because the lyrical content really resonated with me!

 

I'm just mad because I know I'll support and love Poppy no matter what, but goddamn it she really fumbled this album... I blame her label and Jordan Fish for giving her these BMTH demos  

 I did genuinely forget it was coming out tonight

But now that I've remembered im sooo excited!! Really have enjoyed all the singles especially TAAU which was my least favorite intially

This is a really good album!!!! Some great choruses and bridges & the guitars are immaculate

not really feeling this on the first couple of listens 

not my cup of tea sadly

this is hands down her best album 

 

its not as heavy as my other fave I Disagree but i'm honestly enjoying this one more, every track is different and there really was no skip 

These posts confusing me

A lot of songs on this project are very metal and i do not like that genre unfortunately. I do love 'yesterday', 'crystallized' & 'tomorrow' a lot

Every Poppy album has taken me at least a few weeks before I've known how I really feel. Her albums are usually massive growers and for the most part I think that will be the case for this album but the scream vocals might become a bit of a problem. They don't bother me in small doses and sometimes they can even make the song more effective like in New Way Out but something like The Center's Falling Out is just not enjoyable to me in any way. Other than that one track I already enjoyed the whole album quite a lot. Push Go is one of my favorite songs of hers already and Have You Had Enough, The Cost Of Giving Up, Crystallized, Hey There, Negative Spaces, Suriving On Defiance and Halo are all great as well.

Hit and misses but the strongest songs are very strong

WAIT this is great, I wasn't that big on her when she switched to heavy numetal songs but this takes that and makes it a lot more palatable. 

 

Vital sounds like something off of Under My Skin, LOVE that one. I liked Zig unlike most of her fans but this is way better overall imo, my favorite track ever of her's is Linger and there's lots on here in the same style. 

Not a bad album by any means but I do feel like it fizzled out by the end.

 

I'll keep trying it though.

How you don't like the scream vocals? The juxtaposition of them with the more soft vocals is great.

Not sure how I feel about this yet but what I heard was definitely enjoyable. I love how the songs feel complete with all the bridges and final choruses

This is SUCH a return to form for her!!!

I respect that you might not like the album but I personally think the complete opposite is true. She randomly paired up with a bunch of A list producers for Zig and put out the most soulless record she's released, I think that album was born out of frustration that her rock leaning songs weren't doing too well anymore and she wanted to see how pop would do.
