those 2 songs you mentioned indeed suck and are very annoying, but this song is nowhere close to those 2, the lyrics are far more superior and not repetitive

ages since i heard the proper OG version but i heard this on radio 2 by accident the other day and - as well as the chorus - they'd even cut the 'you medicate just to get to sleep' line which felt a bit: are the elderly abusing their sleeping pills? do they need protecting?

tbh i didnt pay too much attention to the lyrics cause i only turn on the radio when im driving, next time ill see if they also do the same here

honestly i feel like these days kids are exposed to more sensitive stuff on social media so i dont really see the point of the clean version

elderly are definitely not listening to this kind of radio station

it's not as bad on radio one where i hear it a lot,  they used the 'you hate the whole damn lot' chorus but they don't skip that line, only on radio two, struck me as very odd.

 

you get a lot more sensitivity to stuff than you used to everywhere tho - references to killing, self harm etc all get chopped - they even edit the bit about day drinking out of denial is a river by doechii which is very wtf

very good observation, i listen to redfm so its probably different, but you are right people are too sensitive these days, its honestly a personal song to her so by no means it encourages those behaviours and stuff, it kind of makes the song way less effective and personal by filtering all these words and lines
