The forthcoming album "Light It Up" – out on 9 August – is Will Young's return to "joyous pop". The 10-track collection sees the acclaimed singer-songwriter team up with new collaborators, pHD, the Scandinavian pop production/writing duo who has worked with Little Mix. He also reunites with Andy Cato of Groove Armada and long-term writing partners Jim and Mima Elliot (who worked on Will's defining album, "Echoes").

1. Falling Deep

2. Light It Up

3. Feels Just Like A Win

4. Midnight

5. Me Without You

6. The Worst

7. No Man's Land

8. Talk About It

9. Everything But You

10. I Won't Let You Down

Love this lead single and the album being 10 tracks isn't bad but making people wait nearly 4 months for said 10 track album is pretty ridiculous :toofunny3:

wish it was longer but i have pre-ordered the CD :gayalipacat5:

Oh this one is much better than the last single :chick1:

but not me just finding out he released an acoustic version of "Falling Deep" on Youtube weeks ago :deadbanana:

(I've always preferred acoustic versions of his songs to the official ones tbh - still rewatch those Christmas performances back then from time to time)

Light It Up is cute.

But Midnight and Falling Deep were miles better.

It's giving old school WY essentially his first two albums, it's enjoyable but kind disjointed compared to the last two tracks

I like this, much better pop album than Lexicon and will definitely saving the best tracks for the full release..

Feels Just Like A Win
Me Without You
Talk About It (this needs to be an single, bop)
Everything But You
I Won't Let You Down

Are the highlights.

It's my favorite album of this year so far, and I like most of the songs,

but i must say that the title track doesn't fit the album. Thoughts?

It really doesn't but that's only negative about the album

I've loved Will's last few albums but I'm really struggling to connect with anything this time.

Maybe it's the absence of Richard X...

I can understand, Richard X truly understands what an Will Young should sound like tbh, I think Will just wanted to stretch his artistic visions hence the switch up.

I only liked Echoes from him, should I even bother with this one?

Yes, it's a pretty solid pop record tbh just not good as echoes but better than Lexicon

Yeah it's clear he wanted to work with other producers, I feel there are some which would be more suited. As an example think someone like Stuart Price or James Ford would have done a great job.
