I just cant believe that someone has 2 #1s from a non-existent album and never capitalised on that. In the music industry sense, that's extremely stupid   

I personally suspect a label dispute. HDD put out an article in 2020 that she was trying to renegotiate her contract. If that is the case, it would seem that rather than go the Megan route and pursue legal action, she may be holding out from finishing the album unless they give in to her requests. Shortly after that article, she said in an interview that after 3 years of being signed to them, she had not received a dime in royalties from the music she had released. She was also very vocal in 2022 about feeling that the label didn't give "Hot Sh*t" the support it should have gotten and blamed them for the video not being dropped simultaneously with the single release. Each single she has released since IOP was recorded before 2020. If there was a lot of material that she had recorded for the album post-2020, I don't think they'd be picking singles that were recorded 2/3 years before release.
