Did This Deserve To Smash?

We were all in 2014, while Kimbra was in 3044.

Plus this ICONIC No Scrubs mashup was a whole moment.

it was too ahead of its time I fear, but tbh as much as I love it it wasn’t a good idea for a lead in terms of commercial viability. that being said, I admire her commitment to going for something bold

this would’ve been a better choice for a lead if she really wanted a hit for the album but it is a bit safe for her standards (still a 10 tho)

Ugh the fact that Kimbra could’ve copy+pasted Pure Heroine as a followup to Vows, but decided to serve us fun, variety and bold choices. A Kiwi legend I fear.

like as a stan, it’s a shame to me that she was never as big as her talent deserves, but at the same time she’s been able to deliver projects she believes in at her own pace and can still tour :jonny6:

the advantage of faves with smaller fanbases is that the shows are more intimate and it’s a lil easier to get up close - getting to be right at the barricade for my first time seeing her in about a decade felt so special and was a highlight of the year for me
