Olivia is the only one of these that strikes me as a potential This Was 2023 contender, and that depends on how strong the reception to the album is. The rest are probably better suited for This Was Pop 2023.

 

But we'll have to see what the Grammys do and if there any big commercial or critical breakthroughs by the end of the year. Maybe I can bring back my boy Jason Isbell. He was so wronged in This Was 2017...

Kinda true but I think there are some contenders already, like Miley's Endless Summer Vacation (one of the most streamed albums of the year even though it flopped terribly apart from one song ), Lana's Ocean Blvd (gay critical darling), Karol G's Mañana Será Bonito (the highest charting female spanish-language album on the Billboard 200). Also I'm kinda rooting for Guts and Pink Friday 2 to become great hit albums (Nicki surely has big shoes to fill with that title)
