Low score: 1 (@MP2K) There’s a genuine sensuality that we so rarely get from Taylor as she recounts a friendship that unexpectedly became something more on this bonus track from Midnights (3am Edition). Soft and warm, the woman who is always giving her 110% rides the chorus with an ease that feels like a “Glitch” in the matrix. The bluesy slide guitar only enhances the mood. Too bad Taylor is betrayed by her urge to overwrite, stuffing lines with too many syllables and cringeworthy references (“situationship,” anyone?). Best bit: “I think there’s been a glitch” makes for a great hook, whether as the falsetto opening line of the chorus or its sigh of a closing refrain ATRL says…: “Pretty unique song,” @Rev8 said.
