look , You doing that stuff is sweet but he didn’t ask for you to do any of that stuff and doing that stuff might not be HIS love language so i don’t think you can fault him too much . however it is important for you to ask yourself how important it is to YOU . if he stays the same for the next 50 years of your lives would you be content with that ? if not , it’s time to rethink the relationship sooner rather than later .

asking him to be more appreciative of you isn’t going to make him more appreciative of you , and it’s unlikely that he’s gonna wake up one day and suddenly decide to be more appreciative

I get what you're saying... It's like when you have a group of friends and you always take them into account, like you always ask them to hang out, whenever it's their birthday you take them out to eat, buy them presents, post a picture with them on your insta story with a long caption, etc, but they put little effort in the friendship. When it's your birthday, they only tell you: "HBD", they didn't even bother to write "happy birthday", they literally just wrote "HBD". like?? not even an emoji or anything.

I agree that no one owes you anything and that no one's obligated to do the same for you, but I do feel that you should be conscious?? It does feel sad when you try your hardest and people don't bother to at least do somethin special for you.

Like if someone bothered to buy me something for my birthday, I would also take the time to go out and buy them something...

I dunno, this is just my opinion.

thank you for trying to understand. It’s just disheartening to put in effort and get little to nothing in return.
but like what you said, no one owes anyone anything.  and imma continue to do nice things because I want to.
it’d just be nice to get a little effort put back into it.

From the in depth information you provided, I’d have to say that yes you’re 100% in the wrong.

I totally understood what you were saying. Believe me, I have gone thru the same feeling a million times, but the choice is up to you.

You're doing something good and even tho it might not be very much appreciated by the person you love, knowing that you're doing good should put your worries to rest.
