Which groups would you say are #2-5? Stray Kids obviously leads the pack at first, that much is certain, and TXT is likely the most apt to fall in line behind them. (ATEEZ + Enhypen somewhere within that mix)

After that, it's pretty much a toss-up. To me, there aren't even that many bgs making credible enough waves in the 4th gen to be recognized --- even more so when you consider the disparity between those and the top 2.

1. Stray Kids

2. TXT

GAP (idk if it's me but I feel like Enhypen isn't as popular as the other two? Due to lackluster releases last year but hey their next comeback could prove me wrong)

3. Enhypen

GAP

4. ATEEZ - For now because they do have a million seller album and are quite popular internationally. However, I could see Treasure taking the 4th place if they do better. Winner and Ikon's popularity was definitely centered in Asia so I wonder if YG will try pushing them in internationally more. Or I could see them not as Treasure seems like a very "safe group". They kinda don't fit in with YG lol. Plus they don't have an English speaker which puts them at a disadvantage.

5. Treasure

6. The Boyz - I put them here because they have been stagnant and don't seem to be growing. Plus they are an older group so maybe they peaked. People have heard about them especially with all their past hype but I guess something about this group doesn't vibe with more people.

Honestly BG rankings are never that interesting. For 3rd gen, it was like BTS vs EXO until 2018. Lmao people used to debate if the 3rd group was GOT7 or Seventeen. But it's actually W1 during their active years haha.

Honestly, #4-6 are going to be taken over very soon lmao. With HYBE'S new boy groups and other big 3 debuts (SM and JYP). And I can see the Boys Planet group selling 1M pretty easily. In this sales environment, I think they can exceed W1 and X1's sales.

Y’all don’t talk about TREASURE unless your bashing them. Y’all are weird

Let’s talk about how TREASURE is more talented than your 4th gen favs

lets have that discussion.

Oh and speaking of X1 their popularity could be on par with Stray Kids and TXT had they not prematurely disbanded due to Mnet vote rigging scandal.

Apparently Cravity was the only post-X1 group (excluding solos) that relatively relevant to the casuals and that's because they came from Starship.

Hard to tell tbh. The management of the Produce groups aren't great. Even W1 was pretty stagnant especially with their lacklustre music. So it's hard to tell how much they would have grew plus covid. I believe their contract was 2.5 years exclusive and 2.5 years non exclusive so they would have spent most of the actual group time in covid lol. And then the companies would try scheduling solo stuff during the non exclusive years to earn more money.

I think they would be popular but idk about being Stray Kids and TXT level.

Re: 4th gen bgs ranking

Enhypen did outsold TXT based from the last year IFPI album sales report so Enhypen are not far behind TXT.

Re: 3rd Gen bgs

I think the trajectory are something like these:

2012-2013: BAP vs EXO

2014-2016: EXO vs BTS with Got7 vs SVT fighting for 3rd

2017-2018: EXO vs BTS with W1 on 3rd

Re: 2023 Bgs debuts

The way Mnet already mediaplay Boys Planet group as 5th Gen group which means other companies including the Big 4 might push this 5th Gen narrative soon as early as this year :deadbanana4:

Yeah honestly it's hard to tell their popularity since X1 were prematurely disbanded.

Certainly not if compare with Stray Kids I fear

There’s nothing exciting about treasure. That’s why no one talks about them :rip:

treasure stans must be happy about harute saying awful stuff, otherwise nobody would be talking about that group.

Loll no, I think we would’ve known about it by now like for how it was with Rosé

a dance performance a la MONEY would be nice though, but that’s wishful thinking

I think Ateez have outsold them? Treasure will surpass them in the future, when they release more albums.

The Boyz are completely over right now, and have even seen a decline in album sales and basically doing nugu numbers (streaming wise). The "Big 6" is now the Big 5 I fear

But didn't the last Treasure EP see a drop from 834k to 600k after the (arguably most popular) members left?

They’re definitely imo more talented than Stray Kids. Vocally for sure

dancing and rapping is more subjective and more so just what you prefer

neither are the twinks y’all constantly fawn over, but I digress…

You probably know nothing about TREASURE so of course you’d say that. You don’t even know their names

Fair enough though I do question those charts a bit especially since there was a lack of NCT and we know they sold more than both TXT and Enhypen in physicals last year.

I would give Treasure a bit of an excuse/pass because they did literally lose 2 popular members. So we'll have to see if they're able to comeback from that. While I think The Boyz have less of an excuse for their declining sales if nothings changed for them. Just means that people are losing interest and/ or not buying as much anymore.
