Love TXT but yea even I can admit that the boys aren't the greatest singers. Especially Yeonjun and Kai are noticeably rough live and it standouts since they get so many lines. But 4th Gen boy groups aren't really vocal powerhouses either so they're not that much worse than their peers. Plus most of the popular 4th bgs try to sing live so that gets them some credit

Man Cake is not it. Tbh JYP set up Itzy for failure. So much of their intital hype was because of their hard dances and performance skills. But then they reveal that the dancing was taking a toll on the girls so they scaled them back and now the performances are lacking that Itzy oomph were used to. Their company needs to realize that GGs are not like BGs where they'll keep growing like crazy even with bad title tracks. Sure neither Itzy or Nmixx are flops but they won't be the top GGs with bad TTs.

You're not wrong. They sometimes give me kpop cover group vibes like those dance cover groups you see on YouTube. Same thing as those singers on American competition shows. We all know they're talented af, but they're lacking that star factor that makes you want to stan them.

Im surprised Itzy's last two albums only sold about 1 million each on Circle chart. If Nmixx is already 900k on Hanteo then they'll definitely be 1m+ on Circle. Itzy better have some big sales growth or else we'll have to make sense that Nmixx are as big album sellers as Itzy.

Even tho boy groups like Ateez and Treasure get no attention in Korea, we know their popular af with international fans by looking at their touring power. Ateez is doing arenas around the world and Treasure has done a ton of Japanese touring. Once Nmixx are given a tour then it'll be clear where their strong fan bases are.

As a group, I think it's clear that Nmixx lacks star power (NOT THE SAME AS TALENT) and identity. Doesn't help that they debuted the same year as 3 popular charismatic distinct groups with good music. In a different era, they would have done far better by benefiting from being the only new gg from a big company but that's not the case anymore. Someone give them a SEA tour so we can actually see that's where they're super popular cuz its clear their main fan base isn't the west or Korea so far.

Well thankfully there's tons of transparency about korean sales. https://circlechart.kr/page_chart/album.circle?serviceGbn=&termGbn=year&yearTime=1 Man I haven't looked at the circle charts for a while, but I hate how they don't combine CD and non CD versions together. I wanna see combined sales Also made me realized that ATEEZ'S last release sold 1.5 million and a third of that was from the mini version that just had photocards. Well at least there's less packaging when fans throw out what they don't needm...

I wasn't feeling the song this morning with the MV but listening to Spotify with earphones is such a different experience. I'm in love NMIXX >>>>>>>>> EXO and ZB1 lol I'm curious how they'll do on the Korean charts considering LMLT fell down the charts pretty fast. Even Teddy Bear is much more stable and charting better this far after release. I think both Nmixx and Itzy need a good performing titles that has some longevity that shows their songs are more than a cute moment.

Lmao BTS albums don't end up in the trash as much as other groups bc HYBE has never done that many store exclusive photocards for them. I'm curious what selling strategy they'll have once they do a new album. If they start doing 50 store pc versions the western news will have a field day bc they're one of the few relevant groups to them Also in regards to NCT Dream, do we know if they did a lot of store version pcs? SM don't do that many for NCT so wondering if SM changed that or is it a bit more organic lol

I can totally see ZB1 surpassing Enhypen's highest album sales soon. If not this comeback then the next one for sure. Stays and Moas should call a truce and get together bc Korea is totally going to call these boys the true current IT boy group lmao As long as they don't release noise music, they have it in the bag

Damn looks like Treasure will now also be aiming more towards the west. Guessing YG wants more of the international market other than just Asia. I do think it'll be harder for them since the group doesn't have a fluent English speaker. I mean either does Ateez and I think that has limited their success (they got a loyal fan base that buys albums tho). Then we got a group like The Boyz who has 3 English speakers yet they're in a group that primarily focuses on Korea. Wasted opportunity lol

Lmao I wish there were cheap twice tickets for toronto. Literally they're the only major kpop group coming this year to Canada so it was hell to get tickets. Heck I'm fine with my faves selling only 90% vs 100% of tickets if it means they're more affordable Also I'm not vibing with the Jobro and txt collab. I feel like it will be a cheesy pop song like BTS's English songs. Something generic and not like their sound at all. Wish bighit would let them do English music that sounds more current and trendy in the west. Also Yeonjun peaked in 2020. In their love song era was when he seriously looked pretty different and his face looked much more slender in a bad way. Anyways let's be real Soobin and Beomgyu have always been the visual line since debut lol. They are definitely the most consistent in terms of looks

What a lot of fans do is join group orders for different stores photocards. The group order manager pays someone in Korea to order the albums and unbox them to only ship out the photocards since shipping albums is expensive af internationally. I mean collecting can be addicting and people get highs from shopping. So not surprised photocard collecting is so popular.

Lol yea newjeans wouldn't be affected since their albums already come with all members. But man I wonder what would happen with other groups. They can't sell their US prices at regular prices with all the photocards or Korean fans are going to be complain about not getting everything. But if they did what Blackpink did in the UK and charge like $50+ then that also looks shitty lmao All groups should just switch to including all members like NJ do

I'm curious what would happen if Billboard banned random inclusions in albums like the UK charts did. I remember why UK ARMY were confused getting only group photocards during the ON era since they didn't know Bighit decided to only do those to still chart. I think Blackpink released a version including all member photocards but it cost like 50 pounds Clearly kpop companies care about charting in the US so I wonder what they would do if albums couldn't have random photocards. If there's no photocards then fans would just buy from Korean sites lol. Bye bye billboard charts. Korea will never do anything about photocards unless there's a literal national scandal so it's up to the US to try to appear to be "ethical" about album sales.
