Yes, the success she's had this year is surprising. To me it is more interesting what she's planning to do next year given the success and exposure she's had so far.

No, this is just what happens when you are a legendary artist and the one and only Queen of Rap. You are still scoring global hits 15 years in the game and reaching new highs. The Rap Madonna for a reason. You certainly wont burn out 4 years in the game and surviving off of Z-list acts like some of the other female rap lyric reciters in the game!

Even though SFG was an obvious desperate attempt at getting a hit - it was a successful attempt and got her the #1 solo she's been after for so long.

 

She went radio silent after GRAMMY noms though, so I guess you win some, you lose some. 

 

 

Honestly I thought she was over. The Gaga of rap.  The way their career is so similar from great peak to getting accused of coping by their idols to flopping and then making an upgrade later.

It's actually amazing.. but not as impressive if you think how many songs she's pumping monthly? Yearly??

 

Like if somebody releases 1000 songs, the chance of scoring a hit is high 

I didn't want to be that person but prolly if it' wasn't for radio SFG wouldn't have made that much impact in the year on charts. It peaked at 56 on the US year end and was out of the top 100 globally for 2022. She also had a 31-track  GH compilation album that failed to chart on YE on the US as well.

SFG was released 8 months into the calendar year in August…so yes, that is logical. QR is a greatest hits album also released 8 months into the calendar year, and how many greatest hits albums actually chart consistently nowadays?

The Highlights by The Weeknd charted both in 2021 and 2022 and is a GH.

Great year for someone who we were told has been over since 2014.
