That was a classic… (The vocal effect should’ve either just been at the beginning of the song, although that is a jump scare, or just once in the song)

No, the vocal effect on it is was makes the song.

Isn't just that the second chorus of the song where her voice isn't distorted? There's nothing new here.

The vocal effect makes the song. And I never got why it was considered a "jumpscare". Have y'all never heard songs with it 

I imagine it's Cher singing the effect part 

No vocal effect ruins a masterpiece of a song.

The auto tune adds magic to the song. It helped make it stand out so much to me on my initial listen of the album as a whole

The vocal effect adds unexpected layers to the track, I prefer it tbh 

It turns a good song into a mediocre one. The pitch change added depth to the lyrics and overall song.

I think the vocal effect works really well.
 

The song would have been perfect if the chorus after the first verse didn’t have the vocal effect… but then maybe that only chorus that doesn’t have the effect wouldn’t sound so amazing. 
 

the chorus definitely shouldn’t have been repeated at the end though. The outro >>

The vocal effect somehow makes the song much darker and heavier, which is amazing and I adore it
