I hope so, I love all of her albums but Smile was honestly such a let down as a long time fan. I think she still has it in her to deliver a decent comeback

While this comment is clearly malicious and abrasive on purpose, I have to agree with the sentiment that she's given her best already and her musical career is as good as done.

 

TEOM was not Mariah's best, in fact a far cry from her marvelous mid-late 90s work, but it was a good direction for her and she turned it into the beginning of a new chapter in her career. I don't think Katy is talentless but she clearly doesn't have the artistic vision to pull herself back up from the hole she put herself in. 

 

Which is totally fine. Not everyone should be a pioneer with a career spawning decades. She's given us some of the best pop music/hits of the last 15 years and she'll always be celebrated for that. She's not 'lucky' to live off from them, it is her merit and it is very well deserved.
