Hollywood's Bleeding debuted with 487k in 2019 (200k pure). It was the best selling album of 2020 and made top 15 year end in both 2019 (#9) and 2021 (#13).

Despite having the 13th biggest album of 2021 with an album from 2019, it would seem his follow-up would be in demand.

However, Twelve Carat Toothache debuted with 121k in June 2022 (20k pure) and scored no top 5 hits. It is already out of the top 10 on the Billboard 200.

After 3 massive eras that charted for 200+ weeks on the Billboard 200, what went wrong with his 2022 release?

nothing went wrong

the album is great and GP doesn't reward talent!

I mean, you can be on top for only that long. You can't release the best selling albums of its year every single time

Motley Crew was a sign of what's to come but the music still hitting so whatever

I feel the GP, I kinda lost interest in Posty, and I used to love him, but he kinda lost his creative touch lately. Will listen to it eventually, but yeah...

His music is slightly less radio friendly and I’m pretty sure he expressed disinterest with being the main pop boy before this album came out, no?

Nobody cares. The same reason why this thread won't make it past the first page

Bad music. And he was really just the go-to white rapper for white kids to play at parties to make themselves look cool. No real fanbase, and nothing he has released has been typically clubby. Luckily Doja is saving him with that bubblegum pop song
