Lyme fried up her vocal cords. She seems to be getting better though, perhaps the damage isn't permanent.

Avril's vocals are simply annoying, even if she is skilled. Adele's voice, meanwhile, is substantially richer and more pleasant.

 

Hello is better sung by a mature, emotive vocalist than one who sounds like a screechy teenager.
